Today, my Mom had an appointment with her cardiologist. She is a wonderful lady, about my age, who recently recovered from breast cancer. Since I accompany my mom to all her medical appointments, we have developed a friendly relationship.
Anyway, as usual, my Mom makes arrangements for transportation via the local mass transit agencies program for the disabled which does door-to-door transportation for diabled people who qualify. As my mom is blind and elderly she qualifies. That means I go to work, meet her at the doctor’s office for the appointment, then return to work and she gets a ride back home or wherever.
So today, I get wor work, have a couple of brief hallway conversations with some co-workers and do a bit of work. When the time comes, I leave for the doctors. I get there just as my mom is being shown to the room. The doctor comes in and examines her. During the course of the exam, She asks how my trip to New York went and tell her the brief story of my medical emergency then mention my upcoming surgery (I always tell her when I am going to be out of town or unavailable in the event of an emergency.) She asked what the surgery is for and I mention the testicular torsion.
After I answered, she looked at me my an rather impish grin and asks, “Do you want me to examine you or is that an accident?” I looked at her a bit confused and she points toward my waist. I look down and
My shirt-tail is hanging out of my unzipped fly! I cried out “Ahh!” turned around and fixed my clothes. I turn around and my mother and the doctor are laughing hysterically and I am blushing. It must have been that way since I left the house in the morning.
Sometimes I am my own source of humor.
