Last night, I went to see a group I’ve been following for years that does experimental instrumental electronic fusion music, aka “chillwave.”

The groups is from California, and they had a screen behind them showing beautiful images while they’d play. They’d feature sunsets, oceans, kaleidoscopic scenes, water, nature, smoke…all in a dazzling array of colors.

I didn’t enjoy the concert when this next scene appeared about 40 minutes into it:

They showed a man in white with a tall white hat, sitting on a throne flanked by two goats (or rams). He may have been wearing a circular piece of jewelry around his neck with what may have been a pentagram. They then showed a partially-nude woman dancing up to him.

Did they show a depiction of The Evil One?

Ruined the show for me, and I had to leave shortly after. I love their music as it’s so calming, mellow and entertaining, but now I don’t know what to think.

They have now brought there music to the level of the gutter, and witchcraft, forget them, why don’t you listen to some Irish music some of it can be very haunting like Aine Minogue
“Song of the Banshee” its on You Tube. Listen and see what you think.

Just sounds a bit surreal to me. Plenty of arty new-agey stuff has that sort of thing. You may be seeing some parallels with things that came out of the Hammer Horror film genre perhaps, but frankly most of that was pretty laughable.

Unless their was a specific depiction of satanism - and from your description I can’t really feel it - I’d say you’re probably ok.

If you’re really worried, ask a priest.

Also you could listen to “Enya Greatest Hits” this is my personal favourite. If you like soothing, haunting music this is it.

Sadly, it really wasn’t too “New Age” - just two synths, a guitarist, and drum seat. Beachy, 1970’s and 1980’s-esque mellow tunes.

The goat throne worried me, plus the tall, pointed hat the guy wore. Very occult.

I’m a big sinner, but I get incredibly anxious with seeing references to stuff like that even in Wikipedia.

Your instinct is good in this case. Steer clear.

However, no one can tell you what music you ‘should’ like…only make suggestions.

Not sure if this is something I should direct to a priest, but should I stop listening to their music altogether? They don’t even utilize words; it’s all instrumental.
Or, just avoid concerts and pray for them? I was praying for them at the concert.

So, you were not part of the group, you did not attend to purposely see this scene, you are not practicing satanic worship. In other words, why worry at all?

Because if these disturbing images are what the band thinks is appropriate, it raises alarm bells.

JLR, if it continues to bother you, speak to your priest. Can’t hurt.

You should not be surprised an music group is promoting satanic worship, most them do these kinds of things, if you watch music videos, you will see LOTs of satanic symbolism, illuminati symbolism too.

The music industry is one the largest promoters of the enemy. even groups you would think not be into this sort of thing, actually are, this is how they get more and more people to turn away from God.

They know what they are doing, they go after kids, when they are impressionable, just look at all the popular music groups kids like today…they know they can make these kids do anything and believe anything.

I think its an attempt at mockery, they were hitting on the general trigger notion, of God, and saying…

God is very interested in the things too, you know, you know you really want.

a suggestion always trys to assume something, ( usually need orientated

that’s the trick, but then the pushy suggestion just gets rejected because there is no where to put the suggestion in the brain where the god info is kept. so it gets coughed out. ( contradiction

so they are attempting to change the culture hitting on the issue of trying to re-design the general social conscience, loosen basic morality, …going for the hedonistic.

If it was a pentacle he was wearing (right side up star), then no, it wasnt a depiction of anything demonic. Sadly its easy to mix the pentacle and pentagram for most people. Pagans like me are always having to explain we are not wearing a devil symbol. The upright pentacle stands for the 4 elements and the spirit.
