Thanks to many people (Catholic Answers and EWTN in particular), my wife, my son and I came to the fullness of Christ on this past Easter Vigil. My son was baptized and confirmed that night. We had a wonderful RCIA class. And we spent quite a bit of time lurking here on the forums.

Thanks to everybody for continuing to defend the true Church of Christ!

I hope your family will participate in Mystagogy.

It would be nice if you could describe for us one of your typical RCIA sessions – and how and why the components benefitted you and your family.

Our classes were very orthodox. References to scripture and the CCC were frequently made. Our 2 parish priests participated often. The sacraments were heavily emphasized. And they stressed that we could “drop out” any time without any ill feelings.

One of the priests told us that the Catholic Church of the “supreme pizza” of Christianity. And it truly is. Every shape, size, and color are in the seats every week.

I’m glad you had orthodox leaders. Besides the listening, to the priests and other speakers, did you sing? pray together? have Q&A and discussion, including personal sharing, time? or eat pizza? : )

We had time for Q&A every week. We didn’t sing (our parish isn’t known for singing, which is the one disappointment we have. Coming from a church of Christ background where the acapella singing is often wonderful), but opened every class with prayer requests and group prayer. We had snacks every week, and twice had a huge potluck dinner.

My fiance’s RCIA (I went every day with her, and sponsored someone) had doughnuts every class! Honestly, I think both Stephanie and I are going to sponsor next year just because we dont’ want to miss out on doughnuts 👍
