Yes, let’s keep this thread going! This is my favorite thread.

Something else in common between all churches - we believe in the power of prayer.

The LDS faith believes in the “anointing of the sick” like the Catholics do and I have seen many examples of LDS priests anointing non-LDS people and vice versa.

My mother, who is a devout Catholic, prays for me, my husband, and our children who are LDS. She even sends our names to the Carmelite sisters for their morning prayer to grant us blessings. Likewise, my LDS family prays for my parents and brothers and sisters who are Catholic that they may also be blessed.

I truly believe that God hears and answers our sincere prayers regardless of what religious affiliation the prayer may come from.

Another one…

My son was baptized in the LDS faith not too long ago. My Catholic family as well as other denomination friends and neighbors came to attend. We sang several hymns during the service - a lot of them not familiar with those who are not LDS.

But then we sang How Great Thou Art and we rocked the roof! Everybody knows that song and sang wholeheartedly! Believe it or not, a friend of mine who is Hindu knows the melody to that song too even if she didn’t know the words. She sang it right along with us. She said it’s a fun song to sing even if she doesn’t believe in it.

I completely understood what she meant. I sing “Star-Spangled Banner” with gusto on my karaoke machine even if I’m Filipino. It’s a fun song.

Since we are **not **that different, why aren’t the muslim members participating so they may show us how similar we are…!!!

As a Catholic I believe we have a treasury of prayers that profoundly and sublimely lift us up closer to the Creator.
