are the Dimond Brothers correct on this one that Francis and John Paul are heretics???
I am having a hard time believing this is a good faith, serious question, especially given that Pope John Paul II has been a canonized saint of the Church for years.

Yeah, like we just canonize heretics and build them big shrines for the heck of it.

What’s going on here is that you’re posting a bunch of links from sedes, and others not in communion with the Church. Why anyone would waste their time on such garbage is beyond me.

I just want to address this to you in a general way. As a person who was born into a strong Catholic tradition and been a lifelong faithful practitioner, I can tell you that Catholics were never terrified or scandalized by the faith traditions and rituals of different people. It was a Protestant thing to call Catholics ‘pagans’ for our belief in the Real Presence of Christ and the ritual of the Eucharist which does concord with the spiritual basis of anamnesis (living memorial). Protestants who were influenced by Enlightment ideology, reject that principle and esteem the intellectual understanding of Christ. Many Protestants who convert to Catholicism can’t accept that difficult belief which has it’s roots in ancient worship of the Creator.

The type of idolatry that is identified by Moses and throughout the Old and New testaments, bears the fruits of immorality, greed, selfishness. When people are so outraged by a cultural symbol of motherhood and of the mysteries of creation, but at the same time are silent about modern symbols of immorality and greed or even defend those structures, you can be sure they have not grasped what idolatry really means.

It’s the same with modern abortion defenders, who would destroy cultural symbols of motherhood but laud the many anti life practices around them, you can be certain that they don’t know what prolife means. Anti Abortion to them is a ‘token’ to justify greed and lust and all manner of gospel no no’s.

Exactly are we supposed to just shun and ignore pagans? Or are we supposed to be neighbourly and bring the good news to them? I think they were trying to set an example.

honestly these almost turn into a Sedavacantist.
Why are you posting this anti Catholic social media rhetoric, is there a question?
Are you asking if the Catholic Church is pagan?
Do you believe any of this?
Are you stirring the possum?
If you are genuine, thats ok, and you are searching the truth and wondering if what has been said by your former religion about Catholicism ie, saints veneration, is true,
then lets tackle this one by one.

Well I have so many questions to be answered about the Catholic faith and really want to seek Jesus

Well, if you dive into nutjob Sedevacantist sources, you’re probably going to come out with some crazy ideas, yeah.

But I’m pretty convinced you’re not posting in good faith anyway.

I’m just very confused but need answers, I really apologize for wasting your time but in my opinion this is very important to me because the truth matters.
Please do not apologise. I totally understand that you are searching for answers whilst investigating the Catholic Religion. You have courage and are searching for the truth. Never apologise for that.

It might be a good idea to take these points one at a time. Which one would you like to start with? Maybe frame each point as a separate thread with a question, without the weblinks 🙂

It is better to look at good sources instead of the drivel found on social media.

I will point you to the Web site of Bishop Barron. It is a good website for a lot of these type of questions. He posts short and long videos and also has a show where people can ring in and ask all these type of questions.

Catholic Answers also has a phone in show and the website has questions and answers.

Both these sites are pretty good with truth and facts.

What do you mean “involved with pagan religions”? Did they profess them or adhere to them? No. Have they, without evil intentions, done things or presided over or participated in events that were potentially scandalous by appearances? I think there are some instances where this might be the case.

As St. Thomas explains this kind of scandal by appearance:
Thus, for instance, if a man were to “sit at meat in the idol’s temple” (1 Corinthians 8:10), though this is not sinful in itself, provided it be done with no evil intention, yet, since it has a certain appearance of evil, and a semblance of worshipping the idol, it might occasion another man’s spiritual downfall. Hence the Apostle says (1 Thessalonians 5:22): “From all appearance of evil refrain yourselves.” Scandal is therefore fittingly described as something done “less rightly,” so as to comprise both whatever is sinful in itself, and all that has an appearance of evil.
But this kind of thing does not make someone a non-Catholic or expel someone from the papacy.

I note that the OP is on temp suspension and has had his first post almost entirely deleted, so I guess if he comes back we will find out if this was intended in good faith or not.

As I already posted, I found it suspicious, if for no other reason than someone genuinely asking a question would not have posted so many Pope-bashing links. They would have posted one or two and asked us to explain.

Well start by searching valid and accepted sources for your information.

Read the Catechism.
Read the Bible
Read some Church documents if that’s interesting to you
Go to your local parish and speak with the priest there
Learn about and pray the rosary
