Were there priestesses in the early Church?

god’s blessings to you all who make this great service…recently rev.bourgeois a catholic priest was threatened with excomunication for presiding in a ordination fora woman as a priest…part of his reason for doing this ;he says; is because in the early church there were women priests…while i dont belive this to be true from what i know i just want your answer
