I read an interesting article that said that the majority of people cannot remember being wrong. The brain edits “bad” memories.
It is not that a person is consciously egotistical, its that almost everyone cannot remember being wrong. Before responding, consider (if you are not a genius) that you must have been wrong at least 3 times.

I thought I had been wrong 3 times over the last 3 days, then I had a really good think and found I’d only been wrong once, which made me wrong twice:confused:🤷

My dad used to joke,“yes,I was wrong once. I thought I was wrong but later found out that I had been right. Unfortunately, that counts as being wrong.”😃

Triumphguy,
My dad was Canadian. He loved this joke!
Do you know how Canada got its name?
They put all the letters in a hat. The first letter drawn was a “C”. Everyone said,“eh”. Then a “N” was drawn. Everyone said,“eh”. Then a “D” was drawn. Everyone said,“eh”!😃

Hmmmm I think I got 3 answers wrong on my biology quiz yesterday. I guess that counts 🙂

don’t 3 wrongs make a right?

wait that’s 3 lefts make a right! 😃

Exam time for me, so definitely.
I wish my brain could edit those out 😛

Well I admit to being constantly wrong… ask my Ex Wife of 21 years, and my partner of 11 years… ask my sons,my brother, sister, ask anyone they will tell you phil is wrong… even people on here tell me I’m wrong… one would think I would learn how not to be wrong…
but I’m still alive… I own our house outright, my car etc… plus I have good health, so somewhere along the line I must be doing Something right… Just don’t know what !
Maybe it’s because I’m an example of the Eternal Optimist .

I saw the poll you wrote: remember being wrong (with details) 3 times in the last 7 days.

😊

I do not remember it, but I have thought that the brain not only edits bad memories, the brain edit all memories, that you do not have memories, and your brain edit every time when you think about some memories.
