West Mulls Response After Germany Says Nerve Agent Used To Poison Kremlin Critic Navalny​

Western governments are considering coordinated action against Russia after Germany said gravely ill Kremlin critic Aleksei Navalny was poisoned with a military-grade nerve agent.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on September 2 that Germany notified its EU and NATO partners about the issue in order to decide on “an appropriate, joint reaction.”

“It is certain that Aleksei Navalny is the victim of a crime. He was meant to be silenced and I condemn this in the strongest possible terms, on behalf of the German government,” Merkel said, calling it “attempted murder by poisoning.”

I guess this man is still in a coma. Have there been any medical updates recently? My prayers are with him and his family.

I hope he survives. Russia and North Korea appear to
use poison to get rid of those they see as a threat. No
one seems to be held accountable.

The alleged poison is Novichok.

I know in the one case in England, the father and daughter “recovered” (for whatever that means but they did slowly recover.

I guess, just like with coronavirus, if I were to get it, even if I recovered, I might be wary of long term effects.

Is that the same poison used in the tea several years ago in London that poisoned the Russian man who
later died? I forgot his name. He languished several days before passing.

Litvenenko may not have been novichok but the poisonings of the Skripals, who thankfully surived, I believe was novichok. That is only 2 years ago in 2018.

And the article says the West noted it’s use in 1995; it may have been used back in 1992. Lots of detail, we can read it.

Who knows what is all confirmed about Litvenenko but an assertion is that he died in part at least, because of a book he wrote exposing Putin. I’ve read what he said. We can research it ourselves. I don’t feel comfortable repeating it, it’s pretty controversial.
