Most of them are brainwashed, really, from birth. I feel bad for the kids in that “church” they are so ignorant of truth it is heart-wrenching.

But the liklihood is that sooner or later, when Freddo passes away, they’ll eventually go away. I’ve read that at least one family member “got out” and has denounced their “teachings”. Internet gossip, perhaps.
There’s an online video where an english guy is interviewing Shirley Phelps-Roper, Freddo’s daughter about the WBC and he springs the question on her about her son, born out of Wedlock.
Wow.
I’ll be the first to admit a certain satisfaction to see such a self-rightous, judgmental, holier-than-thou Shirley try to deny the skeleton in the closet. Talk about first removing the log in one’s eye…
Other than the fact that the whole clan is rude, vile and obnoxious, it’s interesting to me that anyone pays them any mind. Their theology resembles Christianity about as much as Fred resembles George Clooney. Not a word about salvation, just condemnation.
Personally, I think the whole thing is a scam. What they’re looking for is a big payoff when somebody, maybe the relative of a dead soldier who’s funeral they’re picketing, goes postal on one of them.
