I am 29 years old and unmarried. 3 months back I stopped masturbation which which I started from a young age, and started to lead a prayerful life. I do get temptations and sexual thoughts occasionally but I got amazing power from fasting and prayer to overcome it.
However today when I was in the last stage of my sleep I saw a sexual dream (not sure but probably from pornography I have viewed in past) and there was an emission eventually.
I woke up immediately and was totally confused and embarrassed when I found out. I could remember parts of that dream and it was embarrassing. Is it satan attacking in dream? This is the first time in my life and I need some guidance.

It’s not uncommon. I have experienced what you experienced. One time it involved a woman that I’m not even attracted to, which was kinda weird. I’m glad that you stopped masturbation. It may be that it’s the devil who is attacking you with lustful dreams, but he will eventually give up; James said “Resist the devil and he will flee from you”.

This is a normal occurrence when you stop masturbating. Women can have similar experiences, often related to hormonal shifts.

We cannot control the contents of our dreams, and sometimes we’re going to have dreams that are embarrassing or involve activities we would never do in real life, whether it’s walking down the street naked, having sex with total strangers or in public, using a bathroom out in the open where everyone can see, etc.

If you are not doing sinful things while you are awake, such as reading porn or having lustful fantasies, then I wouldn’t worry about dreams.

I used to 3 months back. Was able to overcome by the grace of God.

It’s definitely not a sin. there is a YouTube video which brings up St. Thomas Aquinas mentioning this very thing and he says it’s not a sin. here is that video…

It’s not a sin and it shouldn’t be embarrassing. It’s perfectly natural. Just do the laundry and forget about it.

You can’t mortally sin in dreams. You’re not truly conscious and able to make a deliberate choice. Even if you’re lucid dreaming, you’re not really conscious. Do your best to put them out of your head and move on.

I’m sorry that happened. FWIW, I was about your age the last time I can remember it happening to me.

Sure, it’s possible that the enemy is attacking, but since he’s the ultimate(as in original) source of lust in the first place, that worry loses a lot of its power. Plus, as others have said, we can’t control our dreams.

It sounds trite to say it, but try to put it behind you and move on. Focus on your progress and offer up the rest as Redemptive Suffering.👍

It is simply a physical process. There is no reason to fret about it. Your body was doing what it does sometimes.
