Using Contraception will greatly and I mean HUGELY reduce abortions and STDs, this is a FACT. So wouldn’t that be a GOOD thing
  1. That’s not a fact at all. People who think they are “safe” will engage in more dangerous behavior than those who are abstinent. Football helmets may reduce concussions if all things were equal –*but frankly, people who regularly wear football helmets are getting concussed way more than the average person who doesn’t regularly wear a football helmet and works in an office or something.
  2. By your logic here, even if what you said was true, you would have to support castration, which would be even more effective to accomplish what you say contraception would. So do you support castration? If not, why not?

All I can say is
May God bless and keep you. May God’s face shine on you. May God be kind to you and give you peace.
If that’s the best refute you can come up with I’d say you lost the argument.

I’d say an experience is a fact.
But a person’s interpretation of an experience is an opinion, not a fact. Your claim that abstinence is unhealthy is not a fact, it is an opinion based on your own interpretation of your experiences.

There are many people affected by the same issues.

There are many married couples who practice different ways of conception avoidance other than NFP and those couples are healthier than they would be if they practiced the NFP.
No they aren’t. They may think they are healthier. But they are unhealthier in two important ways. They are unhealthier spiritually and they are withholding themselves from each other in marriage. Not to mention that all forms of artificial contraception have real medical side effects that NFP does not have.

It’s not only me. I talked to many people, I observer, … it’s a fact to me.
Fine, you can ignore my testimony. The fact is I put it forward to you, it’s as real as it gets.
It’s your choice what you do with it.

It would be interesting if there was a big poll about that. What thousands of people would say.

Who are you to judge?

I’d say you are wrong on both accounts.

Who are you to judge?

I’d say you are wrong on both accounts.
Objectively, someone who is living in a manner that involves continued grave moral wrongdoing, is unhealthy spiritually. There is no judgement called for - it simply is.

Likewise, the medical facts about the side effects of contraceptives are well documented. No judgment called for.

It’s not only me. I talked to many people, I observer
You observe and you make your own interpretation based on your opinion of what is and what is not healthy for these people. That’s not fact, that’s opinion. …
I it’s a fact to me.
What do you mean it’s a fact to you? Something can’t be a fact to one person and not to another, that is an opinion. A fact is absolute.
Fine, you can ignore my testimony. The fact is I put it forward to you, it’s as real as it gets.
No. What you have put forward is an opinion, your opinion, based on your personal interpretations of a small sample. And you have no medical evidence or data to back up your opinion. Just hearsay and personal interpretation.
It’s your choice what you do with it.
Indeed it is.
It would be interesting if there was a big poll about that. What thousands of people would say.
And even that would not represent fact, all it would represent would be the opinions of thousands of people. Facts are not determined by opinion polls. There’s a clue in the term ‘opinion poll’. You are confusing opinion and fact.

Estrogen in birth control pills constitutes a CLASS ONE CARCINOGEN/COC per the gubbermint:

cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/Risk/oral-contraceptives

Thanks to Big Pharma and fake CIA-funded feminists like Gloria Steinem helping propagate this War on Women, COC’s are there in drinking water for all to enjoy. Where’s the bodily self-determination if the whole country has to ingest COC’s with which women chose to contaminate their systems? And pharmaceutical estrogen is sterilizing wildlife, everything from alligators to cougars. Man up and take credit for this travesty of Big Pharma and phony pharminists. And that’s not even mentioning strokes from estrogen use. Ever met a young lady who stroked out from birth control pills? The risk is even higher the older a female gets.

As a bonus, women who use birth control pills are less attractive to men because of the short-circuited pheromones turning unattractive, not to mention the feminizing effect of low sperm counts from estrogen in the water…

Planned Parenthood’s Alan Guttmacher Institute has consistently shown the use of birth control in the month before pregnancy and abortion is high. And the Alan Guttmacher Institute showed a high correlation of birth control-based sex education bumping up the abortion rate. Good for their cash-based business. The only thing that stopped this precipitous rise in abortion was abstinence-based sex ed. Jumping on the decreased abortion rate that actually correlates with the abstinence movement is a statistical fail.

Don’t forget PP has been collecting other statistics, the age of the female and the male involved with the abortion. There is an inverse proportion, with the younger the female being aborted, the older the male who impregnated her, often illegally, and generally illegally covered-up by Planned Parenthood in their refusal to report statutory rape and incest. That’s the real War on Women.

For all the fans of abortion, credit Susan G. Komen for sanitizing Planned Parenthood’s cover-up of the breast cancer-abortion link. Thanks, Professor Joel Brind, for your meta-analysis compiling all the stats that show up to a 30% increased risk of breast cancer with abortion. Abortion–and natural miscarriage–stops the process of breast tissue proliferation turning into tissue specialization. More War on Women/WOW Are you listening?

Sister Nancy Kennedy CSJ made the medical argument against The Pill when it first came out, and history shows she was right on all counts. This is deadly business, and not only are females aborted more often than males killing females outright, there is the slow death of cancer from pharma-estrogens, condoms that efficiently spread HPV and uterine cancer, widespread sterility, and increased rates of breast cancer in non-smoking males who are slurping up pharma-estrogens in drinking water, all from the disease one of the ten priests quoted rightly terms “sexual bulimia.”

Have you ever heard about invincible ignorance? People might be invincibly ignorant and spiritually healthy. Who are you to judge that?
Even the Church recognizes that.

What are those medical facts about the side effects, let’s say, of mutual masturbation?

You observe and you make your own interpretation based on your opinion of what is and what is not healthy for these people. That’s not fact, that’s opinion. … What do you mean it’s a fact to you? Something can’t be a fact to one person and not to another, that is an opinion. A fact is absolute.

If many people observe a reality in the same way than it’s a good chance that reality is a fact.

Why do you object this statement?

=theCrow;12260542]While not trying to be rude or blasphemous, I must say that
since Priests are not having sex, it’s kind of ironic they are talking like this about contraception.

It’s the job of priests to preach Catholic teaching.

Also, it is a fallacy to assume that just someone isn’t having sex means they cannot talk about it.
Here’s what 10 couples in their 20s say about Contraception:
I think I’ll take what the priest says, assuming the above comment about couples in their 20s is even true.
  1. Sexual intimacy is NOT just about babies. It is also about Pleasure.
I would say that contraception hinders pleasure. :yup:
  1. The aforementioned couples might not want to have children now or right away, hence they will use contraception.
That’s what natural family planning is for. 👍
Logical and the truth about what’s happening.
:rotfl:

The only truth about that is they are not having as fulfilling of a relationship as those who do not use contraception.

If many people observe a reality in the same way than it’s a good chance that reality is a fact.

Why do you object this statement?
Because that is still not a fact. A fact is something that is absolute. Something does not become a fact just because of a majority vote. You really do seem to be confusing facts and opinions. An opinion is a personal viewpoint, a fact is something absolute. Back in the 1940s most people were of the opinion that smoking was actually good for you, clearly that was not a fact.

Saying that abstinence is bad for your health has absolutely no basis in fact, regardless of how many people may, or may not, hold this opinion. Has there been any medical research that proves this to be the case? No. However there is medical evidence to show the health dangers of taking oral contraceptives. There is also evidence to show that sexual promiscuity results in a greater spread of STDs. Then there are the HIV risks associated with promiscuity, particularly with homosexual sex.

Facts are not determined by the results of opinion polls, all these tell us is about the opinions people hold. Opinions are not facts, they are opinions. You are confusing the two.

One of the priests quoted in the article says, “The Church’s teaching on artificial contraception seems to most people today archaic and silly.”

I give him credit for realizing the way this message is being received.
Brother, I mean Father Peter! I haven’t seen him in since last fall, I didn’t realize he was ordained this year. He’s a mensch!

The only truth about that is they are not having as fulfilling of a relationship as those who do not use contraception.
Here we go again. Another statement - judgement call about what people feel in their hearts.

What do you know about others people relationships. Who are you?
