It started when I woke up. Was almost late for morning Mass. Then a little later I went to work and the fun began. I work in an in hospital birth center and everyone and their sister thought they were in labor. It was like a revolving door. I was “doing my thing” at a decent pace and I thought all was well until a doctor thought it wasn’t good enough and he swore at me. He added insult to injury a bit later when he made a few snide comments about the nursing staff in general. Little did he know I already reported him to my boss( like SHE’LL do something…HAH!). Before I knew it lunch time cameand went…I had a whole 15 minutes!! WOW …Cool huh?? The afternoon sped by …Dr. What’s His Name made himself scarce( Lucky for him) and before you knew it, it was time for me to go home.Did I get relief??? Are you kidding !!!..My coworkers “forgot” I was still working. So, I missed the bus…which made me miss Novena. When I came home (thank you Jesus) I was greeted by a puddle of water in the kitchen by the 'frig. The freezer door was “opened” a bit. Now I wonder who did that??.Cleaned that mess up and proceeded to tend to the 2 baskets of wash that no one else knows how to do. My daughter came over and hit me up for the $15 I had in my pocket. Got her out and by that time I thought I could safely go to bed before something else happened. WRONG! I went to check the freezer and when I opened the door, a bag of sesame seeds fell.Seeds went all over the kitchen. DO you know how hard it is to get them all? Like picking Christmas tree needles out of the carpet for the next 2 years!! I am sitting here laughing like like crazy because if I don’t, I’ll cry. SO tell me…how was YOUR day??

My day was work, then youth group -

How blessed you were, you were able to assist in introducing sweet babies to so many families.

Well my day was certainly nothing like yours! my goodness!

But I did have an impromptu visit from the JWs…while I was in my bathrobe, and giant pink towel on my head lol. Thankfully they were both female. I wasn’t in the mood to debate so I just declined their magazine and closed the door, got dressed…and headed out to Mass 🙂

I had today off, but was thinking being at work sounded pretty good as every kid in the neighborhood ended up at my house today.

I know what you mean about the laughing though…

And chances are good that tomorrow will be a better day.

oh thank you so much for making me smile and laugh…the visual I had of the seeds all over the floor…reminds me of when I have had to sweep up the dry cat food the times I was sure I had placed the open bag firmly on the counter…ooooops!

Some days are better than others. Years and years ago, on the day my baby sister delivered my niece stillborn, my toddler son (now an adult) carefully spread a large package of spaghetti noodles all over the living room and dining room floor so it would be like the manager for the Baby Jesus. Should have wondered why he was so quiet while I was on the phone! But it was a distraction and made me smile and laugh! Sweeping and vacuuming up spaghetti couldn’t possibly be as bad as sesame seeds!
About that child borrowing money…how familiar was that story. Currently I’m not working (waiting for approval to start at the VA) and money is a bit tight. Last week I was meeting friends for lunch (something I never get to do as I’m usually worikng!) so I hit the afore mentioned son up for 10.00. He smiled, opened his wallet and gave me a twenty…
Hang in there!

I can so relate to the seeds everywhere. It must have been a couple of weeks after the honeymoon that I opened the fridge door and the large, heavy glass jar of cat food (that had apparently been teetering on the edge of the door) fell directly on my head and smashed on the kitchen floor. Thankfully DH swept up the mess of glass and cat food while I nursed my bump… Needless to say there are no longer any heavy containers on top of the fridge…

Sorry you had a rotten day…:hug1:

At the beginning of this year, I was in my kitchen and left a cabinet door open. I hit my head on the corner of the door and bled all over the place. I got it to stop bleeding after a while, then went over my parents’ house. My dad saw me and noticed that it started bleeding again. He cleaned it up and applied green soap. That night, I met a friend who is an ER nurse. She said my cut was bad enough that I should have gotten stitches. She said I would have gotten 5 stitches had I showed up in the ER. At the point I saw her, it was too late for that. I have a big scar on my head, but you can’t see it because of my hair. I never leave cabinets open and walk away any more.

not sesame seeds, but a giant box of rice crispies (put away open, like my family always put cereal away), which toppled when DD was rooting around the pantry for something illicit like candy.

still sweeping up rice crispies from behind the appliances when we moved 8 yrs later (this really belongs in the bad housewife thread).

memo to any catechists on this board:
never do any activity with 7th grade boys that involves stones, beans, pebbles, grapes, gumballs or anything else that can become a projectile. have you ever tried to sweep up dried beans from a gym floor?

Did the boys sneak some straws into the class? If they did, I can just picture what fun they would have had! 😃

My hour at work(i feed horses 5 days a week in mornings) went fine. No one tried to kick me, had to report a horse’s 2nd case of what appeared to be rainrot. Had to outsmart a horse who would have accidently kicked me or cause another horse to kick me as I would take the other horse out. Nothing too bad, just the usual horsey feed time excitement. My own horse is away at training, so it is a bit sad at work(she lives there). since I usually see her every day.

It sounds like you had a wonderful day doing God’s work. Congratulations. I hope you slept well and Jesus held your soul while you slept. God bless you.
