At our church, the priest told us (EM) that it would be ok to place a hand on the head or shoulder of the person wishing to receive a blessing and say “May God bless you”. Is that wrong to even do so?
There is no law against it and it can prevent having people from receiving the Eucharist who are not prepared to do so–so long as it is clear that the EM is not attempting to give a priestly blessing.
