What about Mary?

I believe that St Micheal, according with Gods will (the only way that could happen), could intercede.

I may pray/converse with Saint Michael and he would/may take my prayers to God but that does not mean God will answer them by sending or using St Micheal. He may not even give me the answer I want lol. It all comes down to God’s will.
And “your” belief. If you knda believe you kinda get help. Right Gods Will is the motivating factor behind everything. However it has nothing to do with the authority given those who surround God. Are you a Robot or do you have free-will. Do you believe Gods Kingdom is loaded with Robots whom all say…Let me go ask God First.🤷 How do you think this works? 🤷

Is the prayer to St Michael used in exocisms? Why would they pray to St Michael and not straight to God? Do you think St Michael must go ask God first “if” he can interceed for you? You have Free-Will why wouldn’t he? What he won’t do is anything against Gods Will. 🤷

Why did you take my words and twist them?🤷 Thats very rude. When I am saying “I”, I am not saying I know all and there for what I am saying is all true. You asked me a question and I answered it with the knowledge I have. I am a person fully capable to admit when I am wrong. For example I didn’t believe in the concept of the trinity, even though it was taught to me my whole life, but because of prayer (to God threw Jesus) I was able to understand and to see I was wrong. Super right? Right. Moving on… I don’t know why you would ask me if I am robot, considering we have the ability to accept Christ or not. That right there is the ability to choose, which a robot can not do. Free will (to choose to follow Christ or not) is Gods will. So again Im not sure where that question stemmed from.

I have never needed an exorcism so I have no idea what prayers are used. Unless we want to use the movie The Exorcist as our source of information on the practice. Personally I don’t see that as a wise choice… Asking for St. Michael to help during an exorcism makes perfect logical sense to me, without even knowing the first thing about how an exorcism is really done. I mean he, because of Gods will, is the angel who fights with Satan and leads a band of angels against the evil one. So if there is an issue I don’t see why he wouldn’t attend to it…

I already know you are trying to box me in a corner with my words. And say 'if this is this and that is that, why wouldn’t that be this" and again, Mary can intercede but only if its Gods will. Just like it is Gods will for Michael to fight Satan. My position had nothing to do with God bestowing Our Mother with special gifts or whatever. It is with people thinking God gave the world a loophole with Mary and/or her being on the same pedestal with the Trinity. Because she’s not. She is the queen of Heaven, wonderful, I like having a woman in power, but who made Heaven? That still puts God above her, not equal. If she was it would be a quad-inity lol if thats even a word hahaha! But you get the point. If you want to challenge me or debate with me, please, I love the exercise but don’t try to make me look foolish. Its very rude and I would not do that to you. Peace.

Maybe its me and I’m moving too fast. And the course of the conversation changes a bit. I was looking more at the liturgical calender aspect, Ordinary time, St Faustyna yesterday, Salva Regina the Marion prayer at the momen, Christ… That went to Fatima somehow. So I’m just following the rollar-coaster at the moment. 👍

To me its all relevant of one in Gods Kingdom. Its God Kingdom. Being the CC is a gift from God which as has stood in time. When she speaks on a subject we listen. She has the one who’s been fighting heresy “every” century since the Death of Christ.

Its an automatic give to me that we ought admit we don’t know, what we don’t know, especially when all indicates “otherwise” such as the mystics of the last 500-years alone, never mind back with Origen in the early centries. The Coptic Church is a firm believer in Mary as the Gate to Christ.

Spiritually speaking since Lourdes, Fatima, St Faustyna and St Therese. Christians are looking close at the Mystical aspect and Mary in particular and ALL this. The Coptic Church from 1968=1970 had a two-year long intercession from the Blessed Mother. So, yes they have a deep respect/wonder there.

Its far by me in these days and age how anyone could state what the Blessed Mother can or can’t do. Look what Jesus did through St Faustyna since what 1938? Look at the Miracles at Fatima. All the Popes since then are still saying Read it, Know it, and Promote it. Including Pope Benedict XVI.

Yes I believe Mary can dispense all Grace through the Holy Spirit. I believe the Saints can dispense Grace. I believe in all the work with Mary, including the Angels and as we see at the Anniciation. And yes I pray to God the Father, God the Son the Holy Spriit and the Blessed Mother and St Michael and St Joseph and others at times. Trinity centered though. Thats the Divinity Jesus Christ in the Divine Master.

Hope that helps. I’m not judging what your saying or twisting words. I’m just commenting. I understand the different thinking in many aspects.in other areas or even our own sister church in the EO let alone the Catholic.

I’m just a little past the ECF, Doctrine and the Protestant view part of all this, though I love the Saints lives. . I’m focusing on the spiritual at the moment. The Blessed Mother is a great help in Gods Kingdom. There’s just a complexity thats way past humanity understanding. But no I don’t believe we’ll be seeing any Church thats not Christ Centered.

Anyway, just going with the flow. But I note; All is done by Gods Will and Mercy.

Peace

I have always been extremely confused why other “christian” denominations have used Catholics’ love of Mary, the Mother of God, and her rightful place of honor in the Catholic Faith/Church as grounds that Catholics are going to hell. Is it simply the ignorance of them thinking Catholics worship her as a god? Or do they simply not like Mary?

Catholics follow the 4th commandment: Honor your Father and Mother. We are brothers and sisters of Christ therefore we can’t forget who our Mother is. She is a wonderful example of doing the Father’s will and has a most special place in human salvation history. When someone claims to be Christian and doesn’t honor Our Mother Mary, I just assume they don’t study the Bible. Luke 1:48, I don’t ever hear them refer to Mary as Blessed Virgin Mary. They don’t pray the Hail Mary or appear to ask for Mary’s prayers at all. This confuses me as a Christian. They believe having a relationship with Jesus is important, so why is it not important to have a relationship with His mother (or at least acknowledge her in a special way)?

Non-Catholic Christians who don’t honor Mary: Why don’t you honor Mary if you claim to be Christian and in some cases boldly claim Bible believing Christian?

John 2:5 …Do whatever he tells you.

I have had too many encounters with Protestants trying to save me. The problem with Mary is that in their reading of the Bible they see the usual Romans “all have sinned” as we have seen in many sights. I am not sure when this anti-Mary sentiment came about perhaps with the Fundamentalists. I am sure the Apologists know. Karl Keating as you know wrote his book on this Fundamentalist issue.

I see the Protestant in this vain as well meaning from their perspective, since they have no teaching Authority, and they believe that the Bible is the word of God. They have no history to speak of when you consider the Fundamentalists and those after and so what they have done when I dialogue with them is try to use the Mary issue as a means to point out that the Catholic Church is not a bible believing Church, lied to me about Mary because the Bible says so, and then the dominoes as they see them tumble as one that is not well catechized finds themselves doubting because they are not grounded in their Faith and listen unfortunately without asking questions of those that know better.

This is why they get on their banter about Jesus having brothers, etc and the Church making up doctrines, adding etc…to the point of Fish on Friday…Latin…English…and the list goes on, until you too are in a Protestant/Fundamentalist church espousing “I used to be Catholic and now I am Christian”…saw and talked to way too many of those…

It is an indirect attack on the Church via Mary. Fascinating isn’t it that those in The One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church and sister Orthodox Church see Mary as bringing us closer to Christ in contrast to the Fundamentalist/Protestant attacking Mary, to undermine the Body of Christ to engage someone to in their minds come closer to Christ and in reality do not accomplish their goal…in reality accomplish the opposite. It is all how you see it.

Hey! I saw that movie. It was hilarious. But not something I’d like my children to watch. Obviously not very Christian.

Most of the Theotokos to pray that her role as a permanent human intercession before God, especially in prayer, but because of its simplicity, no, but that does not change what it means to salvation Theotokos pray for Gadgets understanding and relief.

This posting should be your last. Why you would put gagdets as a link is beyond me. This is disrespectful.

JESUS IS OUR LIFE:

1 Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” -Jesus, in John 14.

SWEETNESS:

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. -Paul, in Ephesians 5:2.

AND OUR HOPE:

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope,

2 To Timothy, a true son in the faith:

Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord… -Paul, in 1 Timothy 1.

JESUS IS THE MEDIATOR OF ALL DIVINE GRACES:

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
16 And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. -Gospel of John, chapter 1.

5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, the testimony borne at the proper time… -Paul, in 1 Timothy 2.

JESUS IS OUR GRACIOUS ADVOCATE:

1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. - 1 John 2.

18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. -Paul, in Hebrews 2.

14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. -Paul, in Hebrews 4.

25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. 26 For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; 27 who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. -Paul, in Hebrews 7.

In the Gospel of John, chapter 17, Jesus prays to the Father for us. 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

To HIM do we cry (?)

And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” -Matthew 20:30.

Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, saying, “You both know Me, and you know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He who sent Me is true, whom you do not know. -John 7:28.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” -Jesus. Matthew 11:28-30.

“All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.” -Jesus. John 6:37.

To HIM do we pray (?)

“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” -Jesus. John 14:13-14.

“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” -Jesus. John 16:23-28.

1 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, the testimony borne at the proper time, 7 for which I was appointed a preacher and an apostle—I am speaking the truth in Christ and not lying—a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. -Paul, in 1 Timothy 2.

1 John 5:10-15. John. 10 “He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God: has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. 11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us everlasting life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have everlasting life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
