What about my husband's ex after the annulment is granted?

Dear Catholic Answers,

My husband submitted paperwork for an annulment from his previous marriage but it has not been granted yet. We were married in a civil court 4years ago when we were both fallen away Catholics. We have since come back to the Church and are awaiting his annulment with much prayer and hope that it will be granted. In the mean time his ex-wife has had a big wedding with all the frills in a presbyterian church. Will she be able to turn around and be married in a Catholic church once the annulment has been granted? Is her new marriage considered invalid by the Church because their annulment is not granted yet? :confused:
 
Hi,

Yes, she will be able to receive Holy Communion when the Catholic Church considers her validly married and in the state of grace. When the annulment is granted she will still have to get her marriage convalidated or blessed by the Catholic Church. Then she needs to go to Confession.
