What about the wine in the cruet?

If the priest is not going to use all of the wine in the cruet for the consecration, does he need to cap the cruet before the consecration? If it is left uncapped, isn’t the wine then consecrated along with what is in the chalice?
 
Dear SMA,

Only the wine that the priest INTENDS to consecrate will be consecrated. But the cruet should be back on the credence table by the time the priest gets to the consecration.
