My wife's bitter memories of her days in parochial school affected her attitude toward the church, especially the cruelty of a couple nuns - plus rules she thought were silly. Once, for example, at age 8, she was sent home and her mother castigated because she had worn a dress that morning whose sleeves apparently were too short (she was dressed 'indecently') as it was the day all the students went to Mass. She never forgot the humiliation involved, and - after a few more such incidents - her parents sent her to public school. She never had a fondness for the church after those experiences.
A lesson in Humility is good. Our Lord’s whole life on earth was a example of humility. If it was good enough for our Lord than it is good enough for us. Woman, girls, boys and men should all dress modesty. Before I was a Catholic I desired women’s beautiful arms and there are many boys and men like that.

Now what bitter memories do we have, no reverence at Holy Mass, Priests and nuns leaving their orders, no orthodox teaching from the pulpit, indecent clothed catholics at Holy Mass, public supporters of abortion that receive HOly Communion, etc. etc etc.
