What a very similar situation that refugees faced during WW2 from the Third Reich and today wrt ISIL. Let us Catholics pray for the Muslims, Christian, Yazidis and others of Syria and Iraq, who are dealing with ISIL. During WW2 many Catholics worked to save Jews from the Nazis, and today Catholics around the world are working to save Christians, Muslims and others from ISIL.

The USA (and other Western nations) turned aside numerous refugees from Hitler for various reasons, some good, some shameful, but at no time was there an expectation that any of these people were Nazi agents.

Whereas, it would be easy for ISIS agents to sneak in with the refugees. Whatever vetting occurs, once someone is on NA land, they wouldn’t be pushed into the sea.
