When I said to a Pentecostal friend that Mary is viewed by Catholics as an example of the ideal member of Church (because of her faith), he replied, “But shouldn’t we just follow Jesus’s examples instead, because He is the most perfect, He is God, and we should stand up to God’s “standard”?”

What answer should I give? Thank you.

Hi,

Jesus isn’t a Christian. He is the leader; not a follower. Mary is the greatest example of how to be a follower.
