The Catholic Church has established what amounts to a culture. It is a system, as you say, of dogmas, doctrines, and disciplines, that are intended to promote our salvation, which we should not forget.
I’m not professing to be an expert, but the disciplines that are most important are the ones that the Church reminds us of, like daily prayer, partial fasting, mortification, etc. along with adherence to the commandments and teachings of the Church. Others may disagree, but I don’t see enough emphasis on the development of spirituality, reading religious books and the Bible, for example.
There might be considerable variation in such disciplines for married persons, for unmarried persons, children, etc. and these might vary from rite to rite in the Church. Instead of the daily rosary, the Byzantines used to emphasize reciting the sinner’s prayer throughout the day “LORD, have mercy on me a sinner.” There might be more formalized local disciplines such as in the religious orders.
