I can’t find a website that has all the prophets that the Roamn Catholic Church teaches…listed. Both major and minner. Can someone show me the way and link it here for me. I’ve had a handful of people looking, but we are all dumb I guess or none is out there. Thanks!

The RCC cites as support for its Dogma and Doctrine, the Old Testament Prophets and the writers of the New Testament. But if you are looking specifically for prophets of the RCC, I don’t think you’ll find any. All the writers of the Old Testament were of the Jewish faith and had passed from the scene by the time the RCC was established.

I may be way off and you are asking for something else, but the way you word your post, I’m thinking you are meaning something other than what I am reading. ???
Are you asking for Early Church fathers and writers of the first several centuries? There are many but I wouldn’t call them prophets.

Yes, the Prophets are the Biblical ones All Prophecy was fulfilled in the person of Jesus.
No new prophets. Plenty of theologians and Church Fathers though. Is that what you are seeking?

The term “Roman Catholic” dates, I think, to the late 16th c, when people were trying to not be so disparaging as they are with terms like “Roman” or “Popish” or “Romish” or whatever, and were still trying to make their point clear about what group of people they’re talking about. So I don’t think there are any Roman Catholic prophets, per se, because Malachi or John the Baptist are considered “the last prophets” of the Old Testament, and then you have the Messiah in the New Testament.

So individuals can prophesy-- like, for example, the prophecies surrounding Fatima-- but early on in Salvation History, God spoke through prophets, and afterwards, God speaks through his Son, and now the Church continues his work to proclaim the kingdom, absolve sins, lead people to truth, and continue the ministry of salvation. So there isn’t really much in the way of “official” prophets these days, in the way that God used prophets like Moses or Jonah or Elijah to speak in the past. And there were many more prophets of God than the ones named in the Bible-- Obadiah “took a hundred prophets and hid them by fifties in caves” and all that. But there isn’t really a formal list of modern prophets, because that kind of developing revelation isn’t really where we’re at right now. You might look for a list of saints, or mystics, or theologians, or Church Fathers, or something like that-- but if you’re looking at prophets, it’s safe to stick with the Old Testament prophets.

Sorry guys to make things complicated. I meant to say " what we teach". Not that the prophets were Roman Catholic.
Rumor is Ascension Press had a chart like that. It is from one of their bible studies. Anyone know about it? Thanks!

Rule # 6. Do not post material from unapproved private revelations

I think it’s approved or acceptable because I got it from the video ‘Our Lady of Revelation part 2: The Messages & Visions’. Fr was quoting it from a book that is even recommended by Cardinal José Saraiva Martins. Actually, the cave site has several miracles involved.

Unapproved, I was referring to Medjugorje were there has been ongoing monthly messages for a long time. I didn’t want to mention it by name because I heard people are very seduced by that place. I’m not sure what those messages say. Let me look… nope nothing prophetic.

I just baught the chart. We will see if it has all major and minner prophets. It was only 4 dollars. 7 with shipping and tax. Here https://ascensionpress.com/shop/products/great-adventure-bible-timeline-chart
They had a children’s verson I might get if the adult one has everything. But I would still like a link to put on my blog. Thanks!
Open your Bible to the Table of Contents, and you will see them listed there, starting with Isaiah.

The major prophets are traditionally:

Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel.

And the minor prophets

Hosea
Joel
Amos
Obadiah
Jonah
Micah
Nahum,
Habakkuk
Zephaniah
Haggai
Zechariah

Re: Catholic Church, and the bible, and Church teachings

“LadySearchDog” was also looking for the NT references as well. As we know the NT was written in, by, for, the Catholic Church, our Lord’s bride. Ignatius of Antioch, was ordained bishop ~68 a.d by the apostles. He was a direct disciple of St John the apostle. Ignatius wrote 6 letters to the Church in 6 locations on his way to Rome to be thrown to the lions in ~107 a.d. He is credited for being the first to use the name Catholic Church in writing.
St Ignatius, uses Christian in (ch 2) and Catholic Church in (ch 8)
in his Epistle to the Smyrnæans http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/0109.htm

One could ask where did Ignatius get the name Catholic Church from? He didn’t make the name up on his own, and no one gave him pushback on the name.

The English word Catholic is a transliteration of the Greek katholikos which is a compound word from kata, which means according to, and holos, which means the whole, or taken together, = according to the whole / throughout all, / or universal. http://www.catholic.com/tracts/what-catholic-means

One can ask, where does kata holos ekklesia appear in scripture?

From the Greek NT
Acts 9:31
the church throughout all ἐκκλησία,καθ’,ὅλης ,τῆς ,Judea and Galilee and Sama’ria…" = the Kataholos Church.

Acts 9:31 _the church throughout all** ἐκκλησία καθ’ ὅλης τῆς_**
ἐκκλησία = Strong's Greek: 1577. ἐκκλησία (ekklésia) -- an assembly, a (religious) congregation ,
καθ’ = http://bibleapps.com/greek/2596.htm ,
ὅλης = http://bibleapps.com/greek/3650.htm ,
τῆς = http://bibleapps.com/greek/3588.htm , Judea and Galilee and Sama’ria…"
= the Kataholos Church = the Catholic Church.

On a side note, the “minor prophets” are quick reads for anyone studying the Old Testament. Kings 1 and 2 can be much longer but all have great content (even though I have troubles of my own with comprehension).

The major Prophets often have visions which are great to look up to gather some amazing notes. Prophet in the New Testament wise, the word you are looking for is “Apostle.” A few books were written by or involving Paul the Apostle. He has encounters with lots of assistants like Barnabas. The obvious Apostles are in the Gospels so I assumed you meant outside if those texts.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, Jesus Christ is above Prophet and his cousin John the Baptist is foretold about by the Archangel Gabriel. I’m not sure if Elizabeth was considered a Prophet by definition but had divine intervention in her dream.
