What are Marian apparitions for? If revelations ceased with Christ what are her personal revelations for?

Does it not strike you that all these supposed apparitions are mostly advertisements for the rosary and devotion to her? You may be witnessing the beginnings of a Mythos or I should say return to the ancient devotions to the female deity of early cultures. Dangerous ground which develops surreptitiously over centuries.
 
She does say specific things…she mentions specific time lines concerning popes reigns, she mentions specific countries, specific individuals and what’s to befall them. Your right though she doesn’t actually cross the lines from the general conditions to the concrete, probably because she can’t and she isn’t “she”. This latter My conjecture only.
 
That’s my point! Her messages weren’t private they were meant for everyone and they concerned Gods intentions and desires. Just like Christ’s revelations. “I will perform a miracle for ALL to see and believe.” Nothing Mary said was beyond the abilities of a precocious child to have conceived. It is all Doctrinal in nature because the Doctrine it concerns is all so very simple in its message.
 
I agree with this caveat, I would say ALL revelation ended which concerned Gods interaction with and will for Mankind upon the sacrifice Christ made.
 
The messages are clear. Their intent is for public distribution not private “revelation” between Mary and whoever is claiming to hear/see her. Mary herself says this in her messages. “…for ALL to see and believe.” she says. Unfortunately for Mary not even all those who are actually present at the events see or believe. Keep in mind these signs are not contingent upon first believing in order to see as some might attempt to excuse this difficulty by. While signs may bolster the faith of believers they are primarily for the conversion of non believers that they might be saved. Scripture is clear on this. Think how ineffectual it would have been to Paul’s conversion if some disciple approached him and delivered a message from an apparition that he himself did not witness.

Paul had a very special mission, he was chosen by Jesus for this mission.

Just as all the Biblical figures were. Those who receive apparitions usually have a specific mission. Chosen by God.

Our charge is to listen to those who were charged with these missions. Our Lady at Fatima did make the miracle of the sun visible to thousands. And even then some did not see it.

Why is that? It is a mystery that we should not concern ourselves with. We should concern ourselves with the message.

Paul’s mission was building the Church, conversion , and teaching and guiding, in a very turbulent time. He was martyred.

When I said we live in a throwaway society, we want to throw away old things, old messages, old apparitions, old dead visitations of girls at Lourdes or Fatima, and say

Hey God what about me. I don’t want to listen to that. I want new things. Whatcha going to do next.

There are many thousands of Holy people who never have an apparition/ message etc from God. In their humility they just get on with it.

Look at the modern example of St Mother Theresa. She lived a lot of her life not really feeling the presence of God . But her faith was so strong, she just got on with it.

God is unverifiable except through faith. To us today. As our faith grows, we know God, we know of God. God calls us to Him, through His Son , Jesus.
Mary intercedes on our behalf, and shows us the path to her son and to God.
Even when Jesus was on earth, there were those who did not believe. They thought his healing and exorcisms were through the power of satan.

I think of revelation in the same vein as prophesy.
All prophesy was fulfilled in the person of Jesus.
She makes no predictions. She WARNS. Big difference.

Im not sure I understand what is wrong with an advertisement for a rosary? The prayers are taken from the gospel. I can understand you thinking this way. This is how I would think if I was not Catholic and was not acquainted with the details and stories of approved apparitions. I encourage you to study them with an open mind if you are here to learn. If you are here to instruct, which it seems that you are, then your initial question is misleading.
 
The Rosary, in addition to Hail Marys with text taken from the New Testament, contains Our Fathers which Jesus taught us to pray in the New Testament, Glory Bes which praise God in all 3 persons of the Holy Trinity, the Creed which is everything we believe, optional Fatima Prayers directed solely to Jesus, and an optional closing prayer at the end directed solely to God. The mysteries for meditation are almost all events in Jesus’ life, and the two that happen before He was born feature him prominently in the womb.

How exactly is this a bad thing to “promote”?

See here? This proves you have not read (in any depth, at least) on one of the most famous apparitions within our faith; the Lourdes apparition. If you had, you would have known about the details surrounding “Immaculate Conception” with this specific apparition, and why it was a very good proof for this child’s account.
