What are some of the scientific blunders in the Quran?

I heard it being said that there are some scientific blunders in the Quran. What are they?

actually our muslim fellows won’t agree with it.but read sura4:11,12,176.the sura is about inheritance law.but if u will read this verses then u will find a mistake in calculation.if u die&left up to 2 daughter,parents&wife then property will divide in to this way.2/3(daughters),1/3(parents together)&1/8 wife.it crossed the total estimate.&if u left up to 2 sister,mother&wife then 2/3(sisters),1/3(mother),1/4 wife.that also crossed the estimate.

He hath created the heavens without supports that ye can see, and hath cast into the earth firm hills, so that it quake not with you; and He hath dispersed therein all kinds of beasts.

According to the authors of the Koran, God created mountains and hills so as to prevent earth from shaking when men walk on it.

**Bad report by morning_star. The explanation was given to M-S. The bible do not even discuss inheritance. It lacks in most needed guidance. The inheritance laws need lot of calculation and they are perfect laws being implemented in the muslim countries for centuries. Ther eis no mistake. Moreover, this is not the part of the thread. The thread is about the scientific matters. Quran is full of scientific news.

The mountains are meant for strength. The earth is flying (around the sun) at a very high speed (about 60,000 miles per hour). It is also rotating at a good speed of about 1000 miles per hour. Such a big body, if only made of dust could dis-integrate. The gravitational force required to hold it together could have been less that the centrifugal force trying to break it up.

The mountains make the earth strong so that it does not break up.**

Brother planten we can explain everything in different ways.so please prove ur explanation with the references of ur scripture then i will accept it.Please show me where did you find in koran?{that,13/24 for daughters&14/24 for sisters(both from another thread)}.I have asked for this references from koran but you didn’t give me this reference.thank you.

Valid if the stone from the mountains went all the way through or the earth was stone on the inside. Once you get past the crust (very thin) you get molten rock and the deeper you get, it becomes molten metal.

First, dear planten, you are wrong again simply because I did not give my interpretation, but wrote what I read in that verse. If you have some problems with the translation, please share your accurate translation with us.

The Koran is unaware of your scientific explanation because it never states that the world flies at a very high speed. This is why the reason given by the authors of the Koran for the creation of mountains (hills) is totally different from the one given by you. According to the scribes of the Koran, mountains were created on earth because those scribes supposed that men walking on earth would cause earthquakes.
