What are the biblical references against birth control?

Hello,

My wife of 14 years and myself are practicing Catholics. We have 2 children. She has taken the pill throughout our marriage. We are considering a vasectomy. My research would indicate that so many say the church deems it a grave sin to go through with the procedure. Even with all the research, I am stunned. I cannot find any biblical reference that offers a clear picture toward understanding why the pill or a vasectomy is wrong.

Is there a silver bullet out there that can give me a silver buller to this question?
