What are the differences between Eastern and Western thinking?

Easterners say: “How terrible life is. I hope I die soon and evaporate into Nirvana.”

Westerners say: “How wonderful Heaven will be. But let me stay down here as long as possible.”
 
I hope title says it all…
I think a lot of people would say the primary difference is that Easterners tend to be more monistic in their proclivities (i.e, ‘all is one’), whereas Westerners tend to be more dualist-oriented (there is a fixed black and white Good versus Evil game going, so a complete synthesis cannot be achieved.)

However, there is much variety which can’t be pigeonholed by these very limiting categories, IMO.
