I’m Roman Catholic but I’m interested in finding out more about the eastern churches. I’m really interested in finding out about the Catholic Church in regards to Turkey because of studying Turkish as a second language. Also could you please explain the Maronite tradition and where it comes from?

Here is a list of all the Eastern Churches in the Catholic Communion. The Maronites came from the Church of Antioch, and started originally as a monastic movement following the ways of St. Maron, a pius monk from Syria. Due to persecutions, the Maronites fled to Lebanon. Other people with more knowledge on this subject can answer it better than I.
