What are the guidelines for Godparents?

We are planning to baptise our baby son this summer and I had planned to ask my mother to be the godmother, but I was told the godparents should be around the same age as the parents. My mother is 65. Is it ok for her to be the godmother at her age? My brother, who is close to my age will be the godfather. My Wife’s sister will be the Godmother. She is not Catholic and I want to make sure it is still ok for her to be the Godmother since she loves my son very much. Thank you,
