We all know that Jesus is very humble in many ways, but what are the first three ways you think of Him being so humble? and how these three ways have help you spiritually?

Many thanks! 🙂

  1. Willingly being crucified as a criminal to show His love for us.
Lesson: priorities, God first, no matter what others may think. Truth is truth, let it speak.
  2. Washing the feet of the Apostles
Lesson: The importance of being a servant leader, and teaching by example.
  3. Mark Chapter 10:13-15 And they were bringing children to him, that he might touch them; and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it he was indignant, and said to them, “Let the children come to me, do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”
Lesson: Those who seem to know so little have so much to teach us.

Thank you for your sponses, BeeSweet! All the three things and lessons from them are wonderful. I can relate to the last thing you have listed – I am learning a lot from my girlfriend whom I used to think she needed my protection and needed to learn from me. As time goes on, I am learning a lot from her.

Our priest talked about humility last homily and mentioned three things about Jesus and His humilty:

1- born as a human in a poor place
2- died on the Cross
3- the Eucharist

I’d have to agree with your priest. 👍

Three things is SOOO little for all Christ taught us about humility. But here goes - His Incarnation-God Made Flesh Lowering Himself to be in human form. Exalting the Humble, humbling the exalted- Jesus’ harshest words were for those who thought they were spiritually superior or in modern terms “saved”- he never was harsh with the lowly but corrective and forgiving(if we all could remember that!). Last one for me is Washing the Disciples feet. Such a model of what True Power is -servanthood- love -caring- total giving of oneself without any chance of a payback from the one you serve( if people in position of authority could only remember that one.) .God Bless:o
