In what manner does the Pope live?

Does he have an apartment? What does it look like?

Just curious.

Peace

Of course, the pope’s apartment is not his personally any more than the White House belongs to GWB. It belongs to the Church but is occupied by whoever is the current pope.

I always wondered this myself. I know that priests take a vow of poverty but I also know that the Vatican is a massive palatial building so I always wondered what kind of voluntary privations popes, cardinals and bishops have in order to maintain their priestly vows.

Monastics take a vow of poverty. Diocesan priests (and bishops) do not.

The best description is a Museum. It has electricity but no air conditioning ( last I knew ). All his clothes are uniforms of one sort or another.
Paul VI use to sleep on a cot as penance.Because he thought himelf unworthy of the office.
