What are the ramifications?

Heb.4: 12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Who is this message intended for?

Does it have mutople applications?

Is it a valid verse for faith-sharing?

Why TWO EDGES?

Your thought and opinions PLEASE:)

God Bless,
Pat

The D-R is not in modern form of speech, but I think we can see that it says we should deeply hold and believe the word of God, and take God at his word.

A double edged sword is a weapon that cuts deeply. In one sense, the word of God should “penetrate” us and separate the unbelief from firm belief in God’s word.

In this general regard, everyone should read Pope Benedict’s apostolic exhortation on the Word of God in the Life of the Church. I got it in book form, but you can get a copy from the Vatican website or through the document library at www.ewtn.com.

That is the Pope emphatic teaching, emanating from the recent synod of Bishops in Rome on that subject. Benedict throws in every argument in the book why we Catholics should use the Bible in our daily life, and more especially in the everyday life of the Church, in every gathering.

They say that Christ words are to the point, clear.as inthe case with the chief priests and scribes. Most people were not clear on what Jesus was saying. The Jews who were stirred up to say crucify Him only heard from hearsay what was said about Jesus. But the high priest and scribes knew exactly what he was saying that’s why they hated Him so much.People still to this day think we can be with Jesus and against Jesus. But Jesus makes it clear “your either for Me or against Me"Their is only one truth. All the different denominations of christians all contain part of the truth. But the one true apostolic Church is the one with the whole truth.Very few people knew that Jesus was God.He asked peter"and who do you say that I am”?Peter replied"You are the Christ,Son of the Living God".And Jesus answered back you are right but you did not find this out on your own.Jesus was a real mystery to almost everyone accept a few.His Apostles,Mary, and a few others.
