I’m curious as to what are the reasons that I should or shouldn’t become Catholic in your opinions.
I think that your question is very broad and anyone can give you a bit of information. As you see, there are many debates on different things.

Should or shouldn’t you become a Catholic? you can first look at what Catholic and non-Catholic believe in common, then from there find out what the things that Catholics believe and others don’t.

At the home page of this website, you can find more information on what Catholics believe that you don’t believe:
God bless.

Now does Peter talk about the bread? NO!

He addresses what the others left over, the divinity of Christ, Peter heard the message that one would be saved by BELIEVING in Christ as He had taught in this discourse.

This event opened because the crowd wanted PROOF, a SIGN, and so they asked for food.
Jesus made the transition to the manna because of the demand of the crowd for food to prove what he said.
This dialogue is on faith without signs , it is on being saved by faith.
Actually, what Peter heard is what everyone else who was there also heard, namely: “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats the verb used in these verses is not the classical Greek verb used of human eating, but that of animal eating: “munch,” “gnaw.”] my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.”

Salvation huh? Remember PAUL said to persevere to the END my friend. 😉
We are SAVED by the GRACE of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are justified by FAITH alone. Good works will always follow someone who is saved. That is a manifest of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit sees to that. We are justified by Faith alone!

It is an irrational system that has subjected millions to mental slavery.

It names itself after the most barbarous empire, that destroyed the Ancient Greeks and their culture, plundered the world into the dark ages, and polluted both the ideas on God and on ethics.
First to answer the question originally posted I would say that it is home of an unbroken line back to Christ. It was founded by Jesus and is still, miracoulslouly, surviving today.

Second to respond to Aristotle, we can see that he is a “deep thinker” as his name tells us. The church is called Catholic. As in the greek for universal. Secondly if the Roman Empire destroyed the ancient Greeks why would any Roman Catholic feel a guilt trip about this? As for the church you could be a Byzantine Catholic and on a larger scale your still in the same church. Then by your writing one gets confused as to who you are talking about. Are you saying the Roman Empire sent the world into the Dark Ages? Which is untrue, as only the failure of the Roman Empire to exist aided in that. But if you mean that the Roman Catholic Church sent the world into the Dark Ages that also is incorrect. The church was the organization that saved a great many literary works from antiquity. Yes, even your beloved ancient greeks. As for polluting the ideas of God and Ethics I can only laugh. I guess it must be the love of Faith , Hope and Charity. Or perhaps it was the monothiesm. Zues was TICKED!! Aristotle buddy, your just not making any sense!

It is my understanding that the Muslims and the Jews saved Aristotle.

The Roman Catholics simply used what the Muslims and Jews preserved, as a tool of apologetics (a terrible use of great philosophy, in my opinion).

And, forgive my ignorance, and my bull-headedness (I like jumping into a pool of cold water, and either swimming or drowning embarrassingly), what is the Byzantine Catholic Church?

How come the LORD had no teeth marks after that day?
REread my post it’ll make sense…

**
BOAST IN THE LORD!**

1 Corinthians 1:25-31
25For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.

26Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29so that no one may boast before him. 30It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31Therefore, as it is written:** “Let him who boasts boast in the Lord.”**
Sirach 1:27 Exalt not yourself lest you fall and bring upon you dishonar; 28 for then the Lord will reveal your secrets and publicly cast you down,29 Because you approached the fear of the Lord with your heart full of guile.

Your boast was of the HS being indwelling in yourself. Not in bringing glory to God.

MYFAVORITMARTIN: Don’t you know plenty of Protestants who say they’re “saved”, but don’t lead a life of good works??? I sure do here in Detroit, MI. Salvation is not a one-time, sealed the deal thing. It was never meant to be that way by Christ. Think about it.

Simple question, why didn’t they bum rush Jesus start chewing and drinking and have eternal life. I’ve read that page before why don’t you highlight your point!
2 Pet 3:16
speaking of these things as he does in all his letters. In them there are some things hard to understand that the ignorant and unstable distort to their own destruction, just as they do the other scriptures.

My point is you don’t yet understand what Jesus was talking about because it takes faith in Him and His words. Otherwise you end up like these guys:

John 6:66
After this many of his disciples went back; and walked no more with him.

So HIS flesh and blood in the Eucharist are via a means of faith and not literal?
If HE meant it literal in HIS sermon, then why wouldn’t one rush him and strip a hunk of bloody flesh? if it wasn’t literal then wouldn’t you say the text tends to be more as I stated a point of faith!!!

Also, He said my sheep will hear my voice. These obviously were not HIS elect.

AGAIN, why didn’t they rush HIM for a piece of eternal life??

I know many protestants who claim to be Christians but have no understanding of what the Lord meant when he said “born of the Spirit”. There lack of understanding is evidenced in their** “fruits”. **
Many will say “Lord” and not really know HIM.
