What are the Ten commandments of the roman catholic church?

I want to ask simply what are the Ten commandments of the roman catholic church? i know there is a cathchism that specifies those commandments and i would be grateful if anyone could provide the ten commandments according to the roman catholic church
 
My suggestion is for you to look at the Vatican website where a summary (compendium) of the catechism is published: Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Just take a look at section 2 of the book.

Section Two: The Ten Commandments

Chapter One: “You Shall Love the Lord Your God With All Your Heart, With All Your Soul, and With All Your Mind”
The First Commandment: I Am the Lord Your God, You Shall Not Have Other Gods Before Me
The Second Commandment: You Shall Not Take the Name of the Lord Your God in Vain
The Third Commandment: Remember to Keep Holy the Lord’s Day

Chapter Two: “You Shall Love Your Neighbour as Yourself”
The Fourth Commandment: Honour Your Father and Your Mother
The Fifth Commandment: You Shall Not Kill
The Sixth Commandment: You Shall Not Commit Adultery
The Seventh Commandment: You Shall Not Steal
The Eighth Commandment: You Shall Not Bear False Witness Against Your Neighbour
The Ninth Commandment: You Shall Not Covet Your Neighbour’s Wife
The Tenth Commandment: You Shall Not Covet Your Neighbour’s Possessions

BTW these are not the Ten Commandments of the Roman Catholic Church. These are God’s commandments given to Moses and to His chosen people.

I wanted to let you know that the Catechism of the Catholic Church has been said of Blessed Pope John Paul II [the prior pope from our present Holy Father] to “be the sure norm for teaching the faith.”

The 10 Commandments provided by the CCC [Catechism of the Catholic Church] are the 10 Commandments of God.

As a kid in Catholic school I was a big fan of Jesus’ two commandments. I have always had a hard time memorizing all of the Catholic lists.

No, it would be the Five Pillars of Islam:
  1. There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his prophet.
  2. One must donate to charity.
  3. One must pray five times per day toward Mecca.
  4. One must abstain from food, drink, and sex from sun-up to sundown during the holy month of Ramadan.
  5. The Hajj - If at all possible, one must make a pilgrimage to Mecca at least once in their life.

Well…it’s one version of the 10 C’s in the Bible…there are other versions that don’t agree with those in Exodus…I believe Deuteronomy has a different version specifically said to be
"the ten commandments’
 
i thank you for answering, and i further thank rollingtide, for giving a correct answer about islam “commandments”… rather as rollingtide has put it, they are called 5 islamic pillars of faith.

and in terms of the commandments nad the catechisms who compiled them ?

God compiled them and then He gave them to Moses and to His chosen people. The Catechism has been compiled by members of the Church in order to explain our faith in accordance with the Bible and with Sacred Tradition. The Catechism itself is not a sacred book but you could think of it as a cross referenced manual to explain our fundamental beliefs.

BTW the word “catechism” does not apply only to religious books written to teach a specific religious doctrine. It is simply a Greek word that means to sound down or to indoctrinate. Today it is mainly referred to a specific kind of book that teaches Christian doctrines, you can have a Catholic Catechism as well as a Lutheran Catechism. However, up to less than hundred years ago you also had the catechism for farmers and for other activities, nothing to do with religion but simply with a set of instructions on how to do things and why, for example on amazon.com you can buy a catechism for homeopathy.

Yes, but not different in “content.” The Catechism quote both, from Exodus and Deuteronomy and talk about them both.
The Catechism also acknowledge different numbering that exists. One used in the Latin Church is following Augustine numbering and grouping. There is another one, used by the Greek Fathers, and followed by the Eastern Catholics (and Orthodox) especially.
Both groupings are accepted by the Catholic Church.
CCC 2066: The division and numbering of the Commandments have varied in the course of history. The present catechism follows the division of the Commandments established by St. Augustine, which has become traditional in the Catholic Church. It is also that of the Lutheran confessions. The Greek Fathers worked out a slightly different division, which is found in the Orthodox Churches and Reformed communities.
