What are the GREATEST and most signifiant verses in the Bible?

Why is that?

John 15:13, “Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

1 Corinthians 13:13, “So faith, hope, love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”

Jesus is love. He loves us, therefore we must love others in return.

True and very true!

But what am I describing here?

Mt. 22:36 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.”

Why?
Because it says everything for me:
The awesomeness of God,
my relationship to Him, and
the only way in which we’ll find true happiness and fulfillment.

It depends on what you mean. Greatest how? For myself, I am partial to the revelation of God’s name to Moses, but the experience or theophany to Moses that is more central to the early books of the bible is in Exodus 33 and part into 34, where Moses sees God’s glory and God stands there in the cloud and says the Name. This is on Mt. Sinai before the covenant is renewed and they leave. The presence of God went with them. For me this connects up later to the idea of Immanuel, God is with us and Jesus being the word made flesh dwelling among us.

But maybe in terms of usage, the Shema has had the most influence. It certainly gets prayed a lot and also includes the “greatest” commandment:

“Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.”

In recitation, it continues past this.

The greatest prayer in the Old Testament.

"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength" and “you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Luke 10:27.

The greatest commandment.

Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name

Thy kingdom come

Thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day
Our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who
trespass against us.

And lead us not into
temptation.

But, deliver us from evil."**

As Jesus taught us to pray, in the NT.
