What are ways the Church can use technology in ministry?

I’ve been wondering lately, I can see why confession is not offered over the internet but what about a hot line or even just a hot line to ask questions of priest or receive spiritual advisment. Are there any churchs that have anything like this or is there a reason that it is prohibited or has there ever been a request for such or “supply and demand” so to speak?

All sacraments require human to human contact. Virtual reality is no substitute for the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist, the sacramental reality of the other sacraments, and shared worship in a flesh-and-blood human community.

However, answering questions and spiritual discussions can take place in any number of ways. Catholic Answers Forums is a perfect example. Some religious communities always have a priest or brother/sister “on call” to talk with individuals. It really is a matter of having people available and the practicality of setting things up.
