Could you share what you are excited about our Catholic Church today?

For me, I like that the Pope works hard on uniting the Church. The people are fighting for the pro-life; more saints have been recognized and canonized.

Thanks!

That it is here for us – Christ’s representative on earth for US!

That it is Holy – that the Holy Spirit has sustained it all this time through the tragedy of 2000 years of world history.

That it is Aspotolic – that there is a link for me back to St. Peter and Paul and thus to our Christ himself.

That it is full of Saints and people working hair to be Holy as He called us to be Holy because He is Holy.

That soon very soon I will be at the table feast of Our Lord!

Praise God!!!

Thanks for your reply. It is all good, but maybe you can talk about some activities that are currently mentioned on the news that make you excited about.

I’ve got to tell you at my Lord’s urging I have stepped away from the news, and entertainment and tv medium.

I find I have more time for prayer, study, rosary, adoration. I’m happier not knowing every evil and trouble in the world. Enough filters through friends, family, co-workers I know generally what is happening in the world, but I’ve just taken a step back from all of that. This is the direction I am currently in because of my preparation for Easter Vigil.

I work in a profession where I have to know horrible things that happen to people and innocent victims – evil stuff. So, I can pray about that, but to also know about all the evil and stuff going on in the world is more than I want to know. ANDDDDDDDDDDDDD…

I just got to the point if I heard “Ohhhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyy Gooooooooodddddddddd!” one more time on news or TV I was going to lose it. Now I stick to EWTN and good music.

It is good that you know your own limit. For some, it is important to know what is going on around them, so that they may be aware of what need to be prayed for and how they can be helpful to others.

You are watching EWTN, what do you learn about our Church today and what is going on with the Church that you are axcited about?

For your work, may God bless you and grant you the grace and strength to deal with all the evil things and help people know Him.

The prospects for evangelization-for spreading the gospel of love-have never been greater, even as there is increasing opposition to the Church and her stance on various issues. Catholic apologetics have entered a new era as well-better and better answers to age-old questions are at hand. And I believe that a clearer understanding of doctrine will be forthcoming from theologians and has already started happening in some of the teachings of recent popes.

The Church’s constant witness, telling it like it is in season or out of season, is exciting… especially given we are living in one of the most anti-religious ages and in dire need of re-evangelisation.

  • That now and then, we can actually use the word “orthodoxy” and we get a smile, a nod, and no contempt.

Learning about the multitude of saints.:harp:

The book I read last week was about St. John Vianney. It was inspirational:signofcross:

God bless
