What are you giving up for Lent this year?

Saw sometning similar on Fb, a 40 day decluttering challenge.
I guess it does sound like something that would travel the FB rounds – but I can’t stand FB myself so wouldn’t know for sure. 😄

Thank you for the link, Alexander. Whew! The sugar I use isn’t among those that use bone char. If it had been, I’d have been convinced to go totally off sugar.

You’re welcome Lily. I didn’t mean to worry you, I’m sorry. I just think it’s important to spread this information, as subtle as possible. I want people to enjoy their livelihood, but also be aware of what it contains. That’s great news that yours isn’t among that list. I’m an advocate for treating animals in a just way. As they are a resource that we depend on, we should treat them with the respect they deserve.

I appreciate your willingness to share, Alexander.I was shocked seeing the list with some of the companies I’ve purchased from in the past. One of them is used for the free meals at the Methodist church near us. So many products with that sugar in them.😭 I’ll gladly help spread the word.

Thank you for your aid to spread this information. I wish you a joy filled day. 🙂

I’m giving up soda. Typically each lent I give up something I enjoy but know isn’t good for me.

I’m trying to give up my natural inclination to laziness. No luck until yesterday, when I did get about an hour’s cleaning done. Today is another story. We’ll see. I’ll try to do something I don’t feel like doing that really needs done, though.

Water kefir grains are a healthy, cheap and carbonated subsitution for soda. Try it and you might never go back. 🙂

Instead of giving up something I would like to make a lasting change of some kind.

Oh my gosh, I am so embarrassed to tell what I am “doing” for Lent… my job is to make sure no dishes are left in the sink over night! Now, for most people that is a natural thing. For me it’s the hardest thing to accomplish! I am also fighting my natural inclination to laziness…

On the “to do” side, I found this picture of Jesus that is whole and beautiful when you look at it one way and looks like the face in the shroud of Turin if you gently move it, like a holograph(?) There is a prayer that goes with it and I’m trying to say that and others in addition to regular prayers.

I always leave dishes in the sink overnight. I just don’t feel like washing them after dinner. That’s my relaxation time. That’s how I rationalize it. 🤔 I’m trying to get over that, too.
