I gave up cussing, the F word is a big word in my vocabulary and I gave that up. Seems stupid I guess but I don’t think God likes to hear F-Bombs.

I gave up smoking for Lent last year and never started up again. Perhaps you can do the same with this! May God grant you the strength!I gave up cussing, the F word is a big word in my vocabulary and I gave that up. Seems stupid I guess but I don’t think God likes to hear F-Bombs.

I really should have given up smoking for Lent too, but I tried that last year and failed miserably. I just can’t go cold turkey!I gave up smoking for Lent last year and never started up again. Perhaps you can do the same with this! May God grant you the strength!![]()
That is such a wonderful thought, I’ll have to remember that! Although if that doesn’t work for you, something I learned from the nicest lady so long ago-when she go upset she’d say “Gosh, durn it!” (Yep, durn). It always makes me smile. (You have to say it with a Southern accent though).Giving up cussing is a WONDERFUL-BEAUTIFUL thing. It is so nice to be around people who do not cuss. Try, every time you want to cuss, instead say to yourself, Jesus mercy. That is what I am going to try to do every time I get mad, maybe it will help me control my temper. If you make it religious, it may remind you of how much Christ suffered for you, so you can offer something up for him.
I know it must be very difficult, but keep at it.
I will say a special prayer for you.
Yours Through Our Lady,
Margarite
