What are you planning to give up for Lent?

I think a post I saw on FB said it best for me…

"Lent is when I determine which addictions I still have some control over."

😃

(And as such is a good way of figuring out the truth about where I stand in my life and what I really need to change, perhaps by realizing I might need outside help to handle some things)

.

YELLING!

Sweets.

Replace frivolous web surfing with religious reading or a rosary.

Adding: 1 Mass during the week with kids.

Catholic Bible study.

SODA. Apparently it’s terrible for you, and I drink too much of it anyway! 👍 I’ve heard of people going more extreme though: my brother gave up all meat last year and it was a struggle, but he did it!
Several Lents ago I too save up soda (I was a fiend for Diet Coke.) I haven’t had a drop of soda since, although I have a glass of club soda or seltzer water now and then.

Don’t stop just for Lent – stop for good. 😉

a Facebook friend of mine had a good idea. 40 bags of de-cluttered items. One for each day of Lent. You have to let go of stuff…and you give it to the poor.

Sleeping until 7am.

Will be going to 6:30am Mass Mon- Thurs, then getting to the office early.

Arriving early means I can leave early, which gives me more time at home to study for my Theology classes.

I’m giving up playing games on my computer. I can spend hours trying to beat previous scores for even simple games. Plus I’m trying to cut down the sweets.
