All of our book’s are packed because we are moving soon. But, I found a good booklet in a drawer that had not been read in a long time.

The Seven Capital Sins (Pride, Covetousness, Lust, Anger, Gluttony, Envy, Sloth)
Published by Tan Books

Actually, the chapter I read last night on anger had some really good insight and also interesting suggestion’s on how to counteract anger. “A soft answer turneth away wrath.” 🙂

The Fathers of the Eastern Church by Richard Payne and The Lamb’s Supper by Dr, Scott Hahn. Both are excellent reads, by the way. I think Hahn likely read Payne’s book before writing some of his.

Not for Lent specifically, but I picked up a book a few days ago and read it while I was on a 10 hour plane ride. It was an amazing book. It can be an inspiring story for anyone, but it was especially inspiring for me as one who is discerning priesthood. It is called “The Shadow of His Wings”, the story of a young German seminarian who was drafted into Hitler’s army. It is a story of perseverance, God’s providence, and the power of prayer. I recommend it highly.

This Lent I started to read the Bible cover to cover. I have done it 3 or 4 times before; of course I will not finish by Easter but that’s OK.

I’m reading “The Lamb’s Supper” by Scott Hahn, and Acts.

Peace, Mat.

I am reading the New Testament, I just finished with last in letters and today went back to Matthew.

I am sorta new to Catholic Church. Been on and off studying but I am watching bible stories and reading things on how to celebrate lent. I am still trying to find a Bible… I have an app on my phone but its really tough to understand (KJV). 🙂

I am very excited to attend my 2nd Mass on Easter Vigil. Been looking forward to it!

Do you have a laptop too?

Here is something to look at with different translations

I started An Introduction to the Devout Life by St. Francis de Sales and still making my way through it. Heavy but inspirational reading. Not heavy in the sense of hard to read but in the implications for the reader.

I am also reading Introduction.
It is spiritually challenging.

You can get the RSV CE … on Amazon, I believe…for your phone. That’s what I have.

Get the Kindle App and look for the “Ignatius Bbile”
