The autobiography of St. Therese of Lisieux… well, listening to it in Audio book format. I also just finished listening to Scott Hahn’s: Signs of Life.

I’ve also been reading the Psalms, prayers, and readings from the iBreviary app (Liturgy of the Hours)… even though I really have no idea what I am doing. Very Lenten appropriate reading, regardless.

I am now going to see if I can find * Imitation of Christ* in my summer camper. 🙂

Not for Lent specifically, but I picked up a book a few days ago and read it while I was on a 10 hour plane ride. It was an amazing book. It can be an inspiring story for anyone, but it was especially inspiring for me as one who is discerning priesthood. It is called “The Shadow of His Wings”, the story of a young German seminarian who was drafted into Hitler’s army. It is a story of perseverance, God’s providence, and the power of prayer. I recommend it highly.
This sounds fascinating, I just bought a copy based on your recommendation, thanks!

I am to be baptized and confirmed at Easter, and am participating in Lent as part of my preparation. I recently finished “With God, In Russia” about a Catholic Priest who spends 20 years as a Russian prisoner in the prison camps in Siberia, and is finally allowed to go home to the US.

I am also trying to read scripture daily, plus “Hungry Souls: Supernatural Visits, Messages, and Warnings from Purgatory” and “Pray, Hope, and Don’t Worry: True Stories of Padre Pio Book I”.

Preparing for Easter time in a big way…Power Golf by Ben Hogan.

Congrats about becoming Catholic very soon! I have copies of both books mentioned above about Purgatory and Padre Pio. They’re very good.

I’m currently reading “Saint Dominic and His Work,” by Pierre Mandonnet, OP. It’s fascinating to read about how St. Dominic dealt with the rampant heresies of his day. He was able, through “Holy Preaching,” to convert many of them back to the faith.

Every night before I turn out the light I read from “The One Year Bible – Catholic Edition” -it usually includes readings from the Old Testament, Psalms - Proverbs -
Epistles - Acts – then the New Testament. By the end of the year I have read the complete Bible
