What are you supposed to pray about before Mass?

  2. What can I do with my sins except humbly confess them, and weep for them, and constantly implore Your pardon.

All my sins greatly displease me, I wish never to commit them anymore; but I am sorry for them, and will repent of them for as long as I live, and am ready to do penance and to make satisfaction for them as much as I am able.

Forgive me, 0 my God, forgive me my sins for Your Holy Name; save my soul, which You have redeemed with Your precious Blood.

Behold, I consign myself to Your mercy; I abandon myself into Your hands.

Deal with Your servant according to Your goodness, not according to my sins and faults.

I offer also to You all the good which I have done, though it is very little and imperfect; so that it may please You to purify it and sanctify it; render it pleasing to Your eyes and worthy of being presented to You; and it may please You to perfect it ever more; and, moreover, guide me, who am a lazy and humble wretch, to a praiseworthy and blessed end.

Have mercy, 0 Lord, have mercy on those who ask Your mercy; give Your grace to those who lack it, and make us worthy to merit to enjoy Your grace and to attain to life everlasting. Amen

PRAYER

I adore You, my Sweet Jesus, with respect as my God, with confidence as my Savior, with love as my Father, with humility and fear as my Judge. I offer the Holy Mass which I assist at and the Holy Communion, which I receive to obtain pardon for my sins, the conversion of sinners and the sanctification of all the just.

Thank you for posting this! I always viewed the LOTH as being the body and the Mass as being the soul of a good prayer life.

I pray an act of faith, act of hope, act of charity and act of contrition, and if there is more time, general thanksgiving about all the blessings in my life (which can be hard when things aren’t going smoothly in my life)
 
I usually tell God, good morning, how good it feels to be in His house and thank Him for the oportunity to visit Him.
I say how much I love Him and what He means to me.
After I finish with an impromtu but very heatfelt greeting, I concentrate very deeply and ever so slowly, say the Lord’s prayer. I pause after each line for a few seconds, or minutes and really think about what I just said. I say it again if I feel compelled to and then move onto the next line. By the time I am finished I find that my mind is extreamly focused… ready for Mass.
 
I go into Mass and thank God for calling he Home and that i’m so grateful & thankful that I heard His calling. In addition, my wife recently left me and I pray that God put me on this journey for a reason and I pray that He gives me strength and guidance as well as that He watches over my Son, keep him safe and help him make the right decisions & choices in life.
 
I pray the same basic prayer before each Mass: that Christ opens my heart fully to Him so that I love Him as He loves us, and that through Him, I love my wife as He loves His Church.
