Don’t recallI give thanks to God daily for one thing or another but I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving.
As a Brit I never fully understood Thanksgiving Day in the US.
Aren’t you celebrating the arrival of a group of Protestants which led to colonisation and to the genocide of native Americans?
Why is that something to celebrate?
On a lighter note, I am thankful that the Holy Spirit moved my heart and helped return me to the church of my birth. I am happy to be a citizen of the greatest country on earth; I am thankful for my family, especially for my DH who is celebrating five years of sobriety. He is now the wonderful man I married.
Thank You, God, for All that you do for us.
