The very early dawn with its eastern sunlight just beginning to filter through the atmosphere, bright morning light and deep shadows where it hasn’t yet reached, and sitting on our deck taking it all in while Oscar jumped onto my lap to be petted. Plus, mild temps. Heavy rain clouds hanging in the distance. The early dawn bird chorus. It all fit together so perfectly.

I’m thankful we had no damage from the recent heavy rain and winds. I’m thankful for safety of my family from this virus, especially those who are healthcare workers or live in retirement homes.

I’m thankful that a friend invited me to the online Mass her parish are doing. It was the first Mass I have been to since last year some time, I think, and it was so reverent and soothing. The priest lost his father last week, and I had no idea until afterwards, he radiated peace and joy.

So I am thankful for his ministry at such a painful time, too.

I am thankful to God for:

o being able to work in my garden yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it,
o being able to cuddle Chloe in my lap as I pulled weeds in my garden,
o enjoyed the beautiful, sunny day among my plants,
o remembering the love I received from my two deceased Chihuahuas while observing their little plaques in my garden,
o all the blessings He has given me throughout my life,
o making me “slow” down and not panic as I noticed “bagworms” all over my cedar tree…Amen!

I’m thankful that my older brother had some spare face masks that he could send us.

Now I won’t worry about being arrested for not having one when I go out.

A neighboring diocese in my state is going to start up Mass again, with parish’s limiting to 25% of their occupancy, among other guidelines. It’s not much, but it’s a start. It gives me hope. So I’m thankful for hope the Holy Spirit has filled me with 😇
