What are your regular daily prayers?

We all know that the Rosary is a great daily prayer. But it has begun to bother me a bit that I devote 15 minutes a day to Our Lady while I don’t feel like I devote more time in daily prayer to Our Lord. So I’m looking for advice from others, so I can lengthen my time praying to Jesus, spending longer with Him than with Mary, and hopefully strengthening my relationship with the Big Boss. 🙂

Some options I already know of
-Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament (but there’s no way I can do it for more than 15 minutes a day)
-Stations of the Cross
-Chaplet of Divine Mercy (but if it’s recited, it takes less than five minutes to do)
-Meditation or reading Scripture (but I would do those things anyway, and they don’t count as verbal prayers to me)
-Singing Psalms or other Hymns
-Using a Prayer Rope/Jesus Prayer
-Liturgy of the Hours (a long task that I’m not ready for quite yet)
-Mass of course (but I’m not always able to make it to daily Mass)

Any other suggestions?
You covered everything I would’ve said and then some, but when I pray the Rosary I think of it as spending time focusing on Jesus with Mary. To Jesus through Mary. Think of it devoted to Our Lady and Our Lord. 🙂

This takes about two minutes, but I think it is a very nice prayer:
I adore You, O glorious Cross, which was adorned with the Heart and Body of my Savior Jesus Christ, stained and covered with blood. I adore You, O Holy Cross, out of love for Him, Jesus, who is my Savior and my God.
(Pope Pius IX declared that reciting this prayer five times on Friday will free five souls from Purgatory and 33 souls by reciting it on Good Friday. This prayer should be recited before a crucifix with a contrite heart and praying a few minutes for the Pope).
Keep in mind it’s relative adoration. 👍

Most of my prayers are spontaneous. I just talk to the Lord throughout the day. I do various chaplets and novenas to. And I talk with my patron saint and other saints that I’m requesting intercession from. I also like to get to adoration when I can. 🙂

I would like to humbly retract that statement.

ad·o·ra·tion (d-rshn)
n.
  1. The act of worship.
  2. Profound love or regard.
the adoration in the prayer is 2. not 1. even relatively.

I would reccomend the Angelus at noon ant at 6 pm. Right after the noon Angelus I pray an Our Father and an Ave for the intentions of the Holy Father.

The main focus of my daily prayers are the rosary and the Devine Mercy chaplet.
I also pray lauds, vespers and compline daily.
The Angelus two times a day as I said before.
We also say grace before every meal as a family and I say a personal prayer right after waking up and right before drifting off into sleep.
There are also many times throughout the day that I pray for anything that’s just come up.
There are also prayers that I only pray at special times like the Sacred Heart litany, the act of contrition or an act of spiritual communion.

Sounds like a lot, right? My confessor and spiritual director once told me that I don’t pray enough. I was flabbergasted!
So I actually went to the trouble and took the time I needed for my daily prayers and it all amounted to about ninety minutes. That’s not much. Some evenings I watch a movie longer than that and think nothing about it!

First thing after getting out of bed:

I pray one mystery (5 decades) of the Rosary, daily.
I pray a variety of small prayers to my patron Saints, Guardian Angel and the Sacred Heart.
The Angelus 6am 12noon, I usually miss the 6pm but try when I am able.
I pray the Magnificat (Mary’s prayer) after the Angelus

The rest of the day:

I try to read scripture daily even if it is only a verse.
I make a concious effort to pray as many ejaculations to Christ, as I can, durring the day.
Bedtime: a short impromptu prayer to Christ to guard my soul while I sleep.

If I have the kids in the morning, I pray with my oldest (whether she’s interested or not) blessing our family, our home, our friends, and thanking the Lord for all we have today. If my wife takes them to school, I usually shorten it and listen to EWTN. On the morning commute, I’m scarcely awake enough to give a freeform prayer and I’m more reflective than anything.

I’ve written a few short prayers to consecrate my day to the Lord when I get into my office. I’ll often take walks during the day - and either pray a decade of the Jesus Prayer, or quiet my mind and try to listen and let God talk. I like to address a prayer to each Divine Person, so I’ll pray a Glory Be, an Our Father, an Anima Christi, and a prayer I wrote to the Holy Spirit, finished by a Glory Be. If I’m so moved, I’ll sing a hymn or offer prayers of thanksgiving or intercession.

At night I pray for my daughters’ protection and family’s well-being, conluding with the same Trinitarian Set as above, and if I can (I often work 60 hours/week) I’ll spend time with Scripture or read a chapter from Kempis’ The Imitation of Christ.

One more to note - when I’m at home on the computer I’ve taken to praying for authority against the Tempter because I’ve often struggled with impurity. I’ve no set prayer here - a simple supplication.
