I think you and some others here are more than a little over-worried (especially the folks that think it’s occult…which is just silly).Well, the game in not intrinsically evil. However, this is a game that can easily become very addictive. For laughs today, one of my co-workers happened to download the game on his phone. I already can see how easy one can play this game non-stop. Also, another co-worker said that there have been accounts where people were walking around outside while playing this game and getting hit by cars and what not because they are glued to their phone. Is this really worth playing the game?
Moreover, there are a lot of very subtle ways satan has wiggled his way into this franchise - at least for the first season of pokemon back in the 90’s. For example, Ash is a ten year old desiring nothing but power, Brock is this lust infested dude, Misty is a ten year old girl wearing clothing that is very inappropriate for a girl at her age, heck any girl really, Gary - Ash’s rival - is a vindictive, angry, and vengeful young man, and team rocket is prone to cross dress (not to mention Jesse - the female - always wears prostitute clothing). Furthermore, the theme song repeatedly drills into the listener to essentially become perversely bent on catching every pokemon, even if it kills you. There was actually an instance where a student had brought in his pokemon cards to class and the teacher took them away. The student became outraged and struck the teacher! The student’s reasoning for attacking the teacher was something along the lines of that she took his power from him. Consequently, this series does not promote anything moral or ethical or anything that children should watch.
I highly recommend staying away from it. Video games in general are something to caution oneself from, for they easily can suck us in and become enslaved to them. There are other great forms of entertainment and ways to spend our time productively.

Every little piece of the story you take to far:
1.) Ash doesn’t lust for power at all. He’s on a quest to become the best pokemon trainer he can be. Arguably he’s a pretty terrible trainer when it comes to the show, but it’s about his progress, striving toward a goal to be the best. He never chooses power over doing what is right.
2.) As to the age of the characters…I think you have to suspend some disbelief and go with the age 10 pokemon trainer thing. Does it make sense in the real world to send a 10 year old to do anything? Not at all, but the story takes place in a fantasy world where that’s normal. Also, the ages of Misty and Brock aren’t ever divulged in the cartoon. All we know is that they were gym leaders in their respective towns.
3.) Brock’s issue is infatuation, not lust. There’s never even a hint of anything sexual in the show.
4.) You’re entitled to your own opinion on clothing.
5.) The song is about catching all pokemon sure, but it’s never even hinted that someone should do so even if it kills. You completely made that up lol.
6.) A poorly behaved schoolchild isn’t enough to condemn something so broadly.
7.) The show offers nothing moral or ethical? Friendship between Ash, Brock, and Misty. Courage to overcome difficult tasks. Friendship with “animals”, aka pokemon. Doing the right thing even when it’s not easy. All these themes can be found in the show…
