perfect chastity is more an angelic virtue than a human virtue. It is with reason that God gives a special privilege , a special reward to Heaven, to those who have keep their virginity intact because of Him (Rev 14: 4)
A precision. I’m talking about those who are normaly viril, not about asexual people

Victory over any sin requires the help of grace. It’s not as if lust is in a special "helplessness’ category that other sins are not.

this is not true, naturally the human can avoid certain sins. I do not need supernatural grace to feed my child when he is hungry. Even animals do it naturally

False comparison. Who decides when you have sex? You do. Mastering the body requires prayer and grace from God. 1 John 2:16

New International Version
For everything in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–comes not from the Father but from the world.

New Living Translation
For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

English Standard Version
For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.

One does not always need supernatural grace to do good and avoid evil. there are certain evils that are naturally avoided

I recently recommitted myself to Chastity after coming back to the church. Following God’s will is always more fulfilling in the long run than giving into sexual temptation for immediate gratification.

My thoughts on chastity is our hyper-sexed up culture has made it harder to adhere to, but the expectation hasn’t changed.

The “hyper-sexed up” culture was created by the media. We must abandon any liking of such bad depictions in “popular” media.

I agree. We need to be vigilant in what media we consume as it desensitizes us to sin.

yea but what’s the point of marrying someone if you dont truly love him/her.
Love is a choice. We can choose to love any person.

What you are talking about is romantic feelings. Those are fickle, they come and go.

You might do some research on the happiness of people in arranged marriages vs romance based marriage. It is eye opening.

I think it’s charity that is a duty, not the romance or other type of love

even more traditional societies that have some respect for decency, allow other forms of sin against chastity such as polygamy or divorce.
Chastity is an essentially Christian virtue and can only be fulfilled by a supernatural grace, for people who is normaly viril

In Catholicism love and charity are taken interchangeably and their semantics are clearly defined. If you leave the specific context of Catholicism, the secular world attributes different meanings to both words.

It also depends in which country/culture you live and what language you speak, saying:“I love potato chips” is completely unthinkable and taboo in one country whereas it would be considered normal in another country.

Pope Benedict XVI in “Deus Caritas Est” divides “Love” into agape/eros/cartias/philia, let there be no confusion about love.

Society is hyper-sexualized because of the spread and immediacy of pornography. From playboy to literally being a click away, it’s a serious attack against chastity, the domestic church (the family) and ultimately the Church itself and therefore the wedding feast of Christ

Society is hyper-sexualized also because of the universal acceptance of artificial birth control. We’ve stripped the procreative aspect out of sex and enshrined pleasure as the only goal of sex. Sex is just another form of recreation, and fertility is treated like a disease. And the price we pay? Rampant divorce, fatherlessness and abortion. Chastity is all the more difficult in this world, but all the more necessary!!

“We” should be put in context. All of this did not happen by itself. Let’s review:

1960 The FDA approves The (birth control) Pill for general use. It is only available by prescription.

1966 The National Organization for Women is founded. Today, it stands at the forefront of contraception, abortion and other sexual ‘rights.’ Among the founders is radical feminist Betty Friedan, who referred to the family as “…a comfortable concentration camp.”

1967 Time magazine begins the marketing campaign for The Pill. The article talks about a false “freedom.” The thick red band at the top of the page obscures the title: “Contraception. Freedom from Fear” Fear of what? Babies.

1968 The worst you could legally get was Playboy, which had photos of nude and partly nude women. After that, if you knew where to go, you could get ‘girlie magazines’ that were sold literally under the counter. They skipped all the articles and just had a lot more photos That will will soon be followed by the appearance of Adult (porn) Bookstores selling magazines, and other items, with photos of people engaged in graphic sex acts. Who allowed this? Who paid for all this? Certainly not “we.”

1969 NARAL begins its attack on the unborn. The initials first stood for National Association for the Repeal of Abortion Laws , then the National Abortion Rights Action League , and later the National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League .
How did NARAL convince the media at the time, as well as average people, that they wanted a ‘good’ thing?

1973 The US Supreme Court makes a grave error. Citing emanations and penumbras in the Constitution, along with a vague right to privacy, they legalize the deaths of millions. The real name of Jane Roe in Roe v. Wade was Norma McCorvey. She never got an abortion, and became actively pro-life. By this time, movies and TV shows began introducing dysfunctional families. Just a few years prior, you couldn’t say ‘sex’ or ‘pregnant’ on TV, and the programs were wholesome. Again, not ‘we,’ but a small group of people wanted us to see bad role models in action.
Our wrong education was starting. I felt stabbed in the back. And I would feel more pain as attacks on the family increased as the years passed.

1980s Out of thin air, No-Fault Divorce appears in my newspaper’s classified ads. Lots of lawyers were making lots of money. Ads like “No kids? $75 and you’re out. Call 800-DIVORCE.” As an acquaintance of mine would say later: “It got too easy.” And it was nobody’s fault! Divorce is never easy, especially for cause.

I’m with you, Ed. You can’t change something as fundamental as human fertility on a massive scale such as our society did, without dire and far reaching consequences. We reinvent what God has ordained to our own detriment.

While some people did so, such as dynastic marriages of the highest nobility during the feudal period, I think you will find that hasn’t been the norm tbroughout history or for most people. Most people lived and died within a few miles of where they were born and married local men or women known to them.
The nobility, I should point out, were often not known for taking their marriage vows seriously either. There were many who flaunted mistresses and many who were known to have illegitimate children.
Unfortunately we’re living in a time where personal vanity and hedonism trumps welfare of the innocent who are destroyed by divorce.
The flip side is that some of us do wonder if our lives would have been better if our parents had gotten divorced. Sometimes the pressure to stay together doesn’t mean everyone’s actually working for the good of the family. (Also my suspicion of arranged marriages - it’s a raw deal for anyone who doesn’t have a supportive family to arrange such a thing.)
