It was interesting, but the main character is kind of an idiot. I mean, come on, would you summon a demon and let him stick around and learn everything crucial about you, putting your life in jeopardy, all so you can steal some amulet? I mean, even Harry Potter (who made a few mistakes here and there, I’ll admit) wouldn’t do that.
I just finished Inkheart! Loved it! hugs it like Yomiko Readman in Read or Die. Now I’m reading Sunwing.

I’m reading “The Saudis” by Sandra Mackey. It’s quite interesting.

Kristin Lavransdatter by Sigrid Undsett

It was written by a Catholic convert in Norway who was a lay Dominican, and it won the Nobel Prize in 1928. It’s sort of a medieval romance, but not really. Has anyone else here heard of or read it before? I just picked it up off of a library shelf because it looked interesting. So far it’s pretty good, but I’m only a couple pages into it.

My late father, d. 2001 recommended Beyond Sings The Woods, by Trygve Gulbranssen, a Norwegian author born in Oslo in 1894, d. 1962; it was very good and worthy of a second read and the recommendation is passed on…

Why Do Catholics Do That by Kevin Orlin Johnson and

The Gospel According to John.

Just finished “Neverwhere” by Neil Gaiman

Currently deciding which of the two books below to read next.

“American Gods” by Neil Gaiman
“A Wrinkle in Time” by Madeleine L’Engle

Good reading! Both books are really good. American Gods is one of my favorites

Thanks! I’ll have to look into it.

I’m reading The Pillars of the Earth, by Ken Follett.
The story takes place in the Middle Ages.
So far I have only read 50 pages.

I just got “Love and Louis XIV: The Women in the Life of the Sun King” by Antonia Fraser. It’s a biography. Love history, so I’m very interested in reading about this.

Just finished Inkdeath. Now I’m going to see what all this Warriors fuss is about.

Currently reading ‘When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit’ by Judith Kerr. Very good book, and almost finished with it.
I have my fingers crossed that I get ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ for christmas. I’ve been wanting to read that book forever (Jane Austen + Zombies= Genius!).
