Reading The Tehran Initiative by Rosenberg. The coming of the Mahdi.

Interesting.

I am reading right Now Is Seven Suns. It is fantasy. You should read…

I’m currently reading History of Western Civilization: A Handbook by William H. McNeill, which was my college Western Civ text. I never actually read it back then (I was an excellent note taker) and I thought why the heck not?

I just recently read The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde, which I also never got around to when I was in college. I should point out that I was an English major and later taught college English classes for several years.

After this, I’m finally going to get around to *reading *Milton (Paradiso, Purgatorio, Inferno), page after page, word after word. (There was an excellent illustrated version of the Inferno in my old nieghborhood library and I treated it like a comic book 😊) O the shame…

I’m reading 2 books side-by-side:

The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien
Exploring J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit by Corey Olsen

St Augustine’s “Confessions”. Read a few paragraphs last night. This one is going to take a while, it so so rich.

Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis for the first time. It is very wonderfully written. All I can say is too bad Mr. Lewis wasn’t a catholic. After that who know what I will read, Maybe I will post it on the same thread in the future. Books are magical, wonderful things like gardens in a pocket as a Chinese proverb tells us.

James Patterson’s Confessions of a Murder Suspect and Matthew Quick’s Silver Linings Playbook.

Weight Loss Boss by David Kirchhoff. Interesting book by the CEO of Weight Watchers.

Star Wars: Darth Bane Path of Destruction

Catechism (have never read it before)

Alban Butlers Lives of the Saints

Capitalism and Freedom by Milton Friedman
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

St Augustine’s Confessions. Still finishing Theology of the Body. When my mind goes numb, I put it down for a few weeks then pick it back up.

Well, I haven’t frequested this particular thread in awhile but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been reading.

Anyways, for the past 2 years I have been receiving items for devotion as well as books /booklets from those who want to promote the cause for Sainthood for a particular person to name a few I have received books/booklets for: “Deeply in love with Jesus” which talks about the life of Servant of God Simona Tronci, Blessed Alberto Marvelli, and two books on Blessed Mother Marie Léonie Paradis

I have read booklets from the Marian Helpers which you can either “order” online for Free or read online for Free:

marian.org/marianhelper/index.php

I have read Holy Souls Sodality newsletters…You can read the archived Newsletters here if you like:

I still read the Catholic Digest Magazine and Liguorian Magazines.

I am currently reading the Fall/Winter 2012 issue of Salt and Light Magazine which you can read online here:

saltandlighttv.org/magazine/

I just finished reading a book I received for Christmas called, “Haunting Fireside Stories: Ghost stories of the paranormal” by: A.S. Mott.

I’ve also tried well I think I may try again to read a book by Danielle Steel called, “Answered Prayer” I had to put it down because the protagonist really irks me.

Happy reading to one and all.

God bless,

I just finished biographies of Saint Maximilian Kolbe and Saint Don Bosco. Next up is a biography of Saint Clothilde.
I’ve been popping in and out of “A Most Wanted Man” by John LeCarre-nearly wrapped up. It reminds me a bit of “The Little Drummer Girl”.
