A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin (a.k.a. as the guy who kills everybody).

Reading it in light of Season Four. 8P

Mother Teresa: Come Be My Light: The Private Writings of the Saint of Calcutta by Mother Theresa.

The interesting thing is that I finished up my last book and my dad had borrowed me this probably over a year ago, so I had it in my pile, AND while doing the 33 days mentioned previously, the topic for the week was Mother Theresa… :yup:
I would love to read that book too.

Yes, that is interesting Dandelion_Wine God works in mysterious ways.

God bless,

Some books on learning Latin and Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger’s Christianity and the Crisis of Cultures.**

The Oneprince by Bill Hand.
The Children of the Maker by David Bjornstad.
I’m also still making my way through Return of the King By Tolkien. 🙂

I am currently reading a book in the Warriors Series, by Erin Hunter (About Cats in the Wild).

Other books I have been reading are: The Hunger Games Series, Xanth Series (Magic Land), and I plan to read the Eragon (Dragon) Series soon.

I read the Hunger Games last year because my twelve year old wanted to see the movie and read the book. I must confess it was pretty doggone good. I thoroughly enjoyed it and finished in two days.

I am still reading “Divine Mercy In My Soul. The Diary of St Maria Faustina Kowalska”

“Interior Freedom” By Fr.Jacques Philippe.
And…
Pope Francis…“Evangelii Gaudium”

Oh I forgot… I also read “My Daily Bread - a Summary of the Spiritual Life Simplified And Arranged for Daily Reading, Relection And Prayer” By Anthony J. Paone.

Some books can be real addictive “page turners” and one can get so engrossed on them you just forget what time it is and everything Then other books can be quite the opposite.
Anyone ever read “Island of The World”? I found that book difficult to read because it was about a young boy in Serbia in WW2 who lost his family and was left alone in the world. It is by Michael O’Brien The book started off okay but it got so sad by the middle that I simply couldn’t go on.

Evangelical Catholicism by George Weigel. It’s written very academically, but I’ve been enjoying it.

The Collected Works of Flannery O’Connor
Twelve Years a Slave
The Secret Garden (read aloud in our homeschool)

It’s a short story from the late 1800s I read years ago and found recently again after a text search of Project Gutenberg. An orphaned child wonders about her mother while under the care of some Catholic nuns. It’s a very sweet story, probably one of the nicest ones you can imagine. It just gets it right, I guess, a child longing for its mother. Is there also an allegory to the Virgin Mary, perhaps.

It’s available free on Project Gutenberg.
Somebody’s Little Girl by Martha Young.

I just finished That Hideous Strength, which I found confusing despite the fact that I generally enjoyed Lewis’ moral arguments. It didn’t help that I skipped the first two books in the “Space Trilogy”, but they sounded too convoluted to get into. I like my science fiction fairly straight forward, with a one-line premise. I was reading that alongside The Abolition of Man, which I also finished. I do like Lewis’ phrase, “men without chests”.

THE HARBINGER written by a rabbi comparing the prohecies of Isaiah to 9/11. Very interesting.

Okay let me see so far I’ve read:

A romance novel

God’s Miracles: Inspirational stories of encounters with the Divine by: Lesley Sussman

**Thomas Edison (in their own words) by: George Sullivan **

Haunted Campers True Ghost Stories by: Allan Zullo

He’s Alive! Personal Stories of Faith, Conversion, and Renewal by: Father Peter B. Coughlin

Ten True Animal Rescues by: Jeanne Betancourt

Miracle, the story of a killer whale by: Case Schrage

The Velveteen Rabbit by: Margery Williams

The Prayer of Jabez for Kids by: Bruce Wilkinson

I’ve also read 3 or 4 vintage Christian Children’s ARCH books.

Yeah, I admit I read books that are more geared for children and youth.:o 🙂

Now, I’m currently reading, The Prayer of Jabez by: Bruce Wilkinson

Happy reading everyone and God bless,
