sort of reading Anne’s House of Dreams on my Kindle. Hope to be reading soon: Rick Riordan’s latest Heroes of Olympus book called Son of Neptune. Books I have but need to read…several on my Kindle…
Greetings Jediliz,

I liked those series to read growing up. I have them all on my computer, but for Anne of Ingleside, which I believe is to be my favorite of those series oh and Anne of Windy Poplars. I could not find them on Project Gutenburg.

God Bless.

@Abort73Catholic…
“I am reading that book…actually, the one I’m reading is “Rediscover Catholicism”…it’s essentially the same exact thing, except this one is a “newer” edition, copyrighted in 2010. I have not had as much time to read it as I would like lately, but I have very much enjoyed it thus far. My boyfriend’s mom actually recommended it to me, and ended up giving me a copy. I absolutely love the story about the mystery epidemic in the beginning…really puts things into perspective!”

So glad to hear that your reading this book. I have been so busy with Ministry work I am still reading it…
Later on, Kelly frames the lives of 5 people / saints in our catholic history that have had the greatest influence on the church…that have carried the ball for us. One of them is John Paul II who he manages to condense into just a few pages. He saved the best for last, my favorite for sure. My favorite quote speaking about John Paul II is; “Within him, he carries a truth and a wisdom that are so evident, so apparent, that people of all religious beliefs are awed by his presence. He is the living example of God’s paradox at this moment in history.”

I pray that you find your essential purpose, what God created you to be…Godspeed…LukeSr

I am reading The Phoenix Charm by Helen Scott Taylor and Wicked Gentlemen by Ginn Hale. I would classify The Phoenix Charm as romantic fantasy/fantasy romance, and while I’ve read worse, it’s definitely not a can’t-put-it-down read for me.

Wicked Gentlemen, on the other hand, is steampunk (gay male) romance with phenomenal prose. I had to force myself to put it down to write this.

Over the summer I read “The Art of Racing in the Rain” by Garth Stein. Truly one of the most enjoyable books I have read in a very long time.

You will not be disappointed.
That is my all time favorite book and have recommended it to friends who also loved it.

Almost finished The Grass Crown by Colleen McCullough. I don’t think you can get a series of books more detailed, historically accurate and entertaining about Ancient Rome than what she has written.

For anyone who loves history, do yourself a favour and start reading her books if you haven’t already.

What is the first book and do you have the order of them?

Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace by Terry Brooks.

It’s pretty boring actually. I’m just kind of reading because I’m a Terry Brooks fan and because apparently he added some Sith stuff (like why Darth Maul said “at last we will have our revenge”

The Plague Dogs. I very rarely read something willingly thats not for school. but the plague dogs is my favorite movie and the book was at my local library. Even though im mildly dyslexic and takes forever for my to read anything, ive never been so engaged in the atmosphere. so far (im only on chapter 3), the movie seems close to the book. but one thing i really like thats downplayed in the movie is the conversations about the meaning of life, from the point of view from dogs whom spent all or most of there life in an animal research lab.

Cant say enough about “Rediscovering Catholicism” by Matthew Kelly…Yeah, still havnt finished it yet. Im taking my time you might say. Matthew Kelly is a great motivational speaker also I found out but this work of his challenges the catholic of mediocrity and of the lukewarm variety to an evaluation of his approach to his faith and calls for an “all or nothing” perspective to become the "best version of yourself’ as God created you to be…great book

Godspeed…LukeSr

I was delighted to find that I get many classics free on my iPad so I am reading Jane Eyre also. I also checked out the Lord of the Rings trilogy but its going slowly for me. the Anne series was my favorite growing up so thanks for the reminder.
I love history so might look into prayersharks series.

jediliz- The last 4 books you are reading sounds truly interesting.

I’m currently reading the June issue of Catholic Digest after that I’ll be moving on to 3 more Catholic Magazines and hopefully I’ll finish my book. I do have A LOT of reading to catch up on.

The Count of Monte Christo by Alexander Dumas
Theology of the Church by Journet

Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne.

I have high hopes for this one.

I’m currently reading The Girl Who Played With Fire. I finished The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo not too long ago and wanted to proceed with the series. The former is the first one that I’ve read on the Kindle. I kind of dragged my feet about buying one. I do like reading on it though. Good purchase. Up next is The Mill River Recluse. I’ve heard good things about that book.

going to start Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein to celebrate Halloween.
I also have ‘Dracula’ so in for some spooky reading!

Greetings Petitfleur,

Very good books both of them. I may have to go and dig for the ebooks. Those are well worth the reread.

By far, it was the best of the 3 I’ve read by him. I didn’t get as bogged down in detail as the others. I really enjoyed it.

A Canticle for Liebowitz.

Miller’s biography is very sketchy. Does anyone have anything substantial about him?
